After a car accident in March 2007, I was told by the hospital I am a diabetic and I'm looking for support.

Hi Frannie. :) Have you seen an Endo or your family doctor about this yet? What course of treatment are you using? You will get plenty of support here, but tell us more about what is going on.

I have now a family docter and take Metormin er 500mg x2 daily. My numbers (readings twice daily) are fine in the evening but higher in the mornings, aprox 130. Why? I never have low numbers and feel fine most of the day. I'm slowing losing weight and just watch what I eat. What is a 1.5 diabetic?

Frannie, you might want to search the forum for "liver dumps" or "Dawn phenomena" (sp?). I still have problems with it once in awhile. There are different explanations for type 1.5, some people use it for anyone who takes insulin and is not a type 1.
