Ok I just started taking metformin this week, exercising, and eating right. I have been having frequent urination whhich is something I am use to because when my sugar is high I suffer with frequent trips to the bathroom. The problem that I have is that I checked me blood sugar 2 hours after I ate and it said my blood sugar was 118. I was shocked. I took it again about 12 mins later and it then said my blood sugar was 112. While these readings are great, it concerns me that I still have symptoms of high sugar because I am still running back and forth to the bathroom. If these reading are right then this is the lowest I have been in a long time. I don't know if my meter is wrong, I use the true track from walgreens but I am really scared about the frequent urination with normal reading like this. Has anyone ever had this happen to then before?

Give it a while (couple of weeks). If no change, contact your doctor and see what S(he) says.
Personally, I'm a frequent uninator. The real question should be, are you abnormally thirsty? Do you drink substanitually(sp?) more than a litre of water (liquids a day?

Umm... Needing substantially more than a liter of water a day is normal. The old recommendation of 48oz water/day ("six 8-ounce glasses") is 1.4 liters. About 5 years ago, my then-doctor told me that a better guideline is to take half your weight in pounds and drink at least that many ounces/day of water - so if you weigh over 96 lbs, even the old 48 ounce/1.4 liter recommendation isn't enough. I was a little over 200 lbs at the time, so I started bringing 3 liters of water to work with me every day and usually got through that by early afternoon, then had more after getting home, and this was years before I developed diabetes or had any signs of high blood sugar.

If you are getting an internet connection set up in your bathroom because you spend too much time in there is an indication of over urinating.
I think you might have scared yourself over nothing. If you changed your diet to include foods with much more water in them and you've been exercising and drinking more water plus it's hot out so you drink more and heard about being thirsty as an indication of high sugar.
The water recommendations include all forms of water, some people say it's got to be pure water but as soon as you drink it, it all goes into the same stomach so that blows their theory.
The thirst is the key, and not because you should be. I expect to go through an extra gallon of water over my usual today as I am working outside in the yard.

I don't think you're running to the bathroom do to high blood sugars. It can be something else...your numbers sound fine and in control so it can't be caused by the diabetes. Have you talked to your doctor about it? When I had GD even though I was drinking 64oz of water a day I was still VERY thirsty but they told me it wasn't my diabetes cause my numbers where in control.

Avoid coffee, soft drinks, any caffeine.
those are diuretics & make you urinate more often.
take care
