this is sort of a vent, sort of a 'help me'

okay so on sunday i 'manually inserted' the sensor needle, by this i mean i put it into the senserter, freaked out, took it out of it, and pushed the needle into my 'right above my butt' myself.

now i got a 'lost sensor' reading *(which i can tell u, its NOT lost, i can see it plainly!!! *bad joke, sorry*)*, so i moved it around a bit, and it finally started to work... then when i calibrated it, it said 'cal error, enter bg now' so i dd that. and it worked, then it happened again a bit later, so i did it again and it worked.
\
so then my numbers on my meter and my pump were 2 totally different things, so that annoyed me, and i was going by my meter.

so last night, as i'm walking down the hallway, i apparently started to bend over to pick something up and my pump and injection site both go flying out of my body. yea, so i run to clean up the blood spurting out of my stomach (sorry for the visual) and then i put in a new infusion set.

so THEN i go to bed and i got woken up at least 4 times from the sensor beeping things like 'lost sensor', 'cal error', and finally my favorite thing ever (please note the sarcasm), 'bad sensor'

so i take the thing out of my body (it's now 5 am) and i finally sleep for an hour.

this morning i go to insert a new sensor (and i freak out at that scary inserter thing again), manually inject it (same spot, other side, which according to the book is a good side to put it in) and i'm getting the 'lost sensor' thing again.

PLEASE tell me what to do (besides the obvious get over the senserter thing)

i changed the battery on the pump (it kept randomly changing from 3 bars to 2 and then dropped to 1... um i've had the pump a week and 1 day and i played with it 3 weeks ago for like 2 hours... so why there's no more juice left, i have no idea)

would that maybe fix it?

Use the SenSerter and call MM support for further help. They may have some feedback on why you are getting this errors.

I think you'll be surprised how much easier the "serters" are...I used to be a manual kinda guy until I got my Sof-Serter, and literally I am now squeamish about doing insertion sets without some sort of "serter".

I would not put in the sensor without the inserter.
With the inserter, that has the base angle. I go just a little more of an angle.
Tip it up more.
If it poped out what were you covering it with or were you just using the sticky sensor?
If so then personaly that is a bad idea. Get some more dressings, i think it is stupid that they dont come with some.
But anyway it sucks not getting sleep because of the learning curve.
Lost sensor is not good placement or it has moved to much.
I had the same opinion though.
The third sensor in one day taught me to use dressings.I use two, one over primarly the sensor and one over the transmitter. I thought well it should stay right? So the second one i put the dressing over the transmitter and the sensor tipped up and was lost... That is how used three in one day. Learning curve and a little humor with self.

As you may know if you change the battery then you have to restart the sensor. The 2hr thing. I do that when i am starting my second week on the same sensor.
Charge the transmitter and change the battery.
I always have mine on vib with reminders for bg.
So i use most of a battery.

thanks joe!
i actually called them yesterday to find out what was going on and they told me (well my nurse asked me to try restarting the battery and letting the whole thing charger over night) and they told me to wait 5 mins before putting the transmitter into the sensor.
by this a.m. when i put it back on, my isig was in the 80's which i guess meant i absorbed a lot of that weird fluid name thing overnight.
so i'm wearing it now and it's working and i'm very happy./

this probably made no sense and i apologize...

they also told me that i can do it sans serter, which makes me happy cause i REALLY hate that thing.

Glad its working better for you.:) Makes complete sense of course ..
I havent ever used a inserter until the sensors. Dont really like them for the same reason.

Anyway I understood it as you wait a full 10 min before hooking up the transmitter.

I just ordered more sensors and recieved an e-mail that they are back ordered?
I dont like the sound of that.

As I was saying though when it ends sensor restart it as a new one, you will cailbrate it in about 15 min.

After the next end remove the transmitter and recharge it. Until it stops blinking. Reconect aand start the process over again.

Aj keep up the persistence and the the humor :)

Back-ordered? Wow. But in a way, I think this is good--it shows the popularity and acceptance of this technology is growing. This should become the wave of the future.

I agree I really like this, should have done it sooner.
But i did just talk to mm about the back order. They said that the demand is increasing greatly, and that it could be up to two weeks.

I use a sensor for that long but i placed the order a few days into this one. So we will see.
