Where do you put your pump when you sleep?

I clip mine to the front of my shorts so that I can lay on either side without being bothered. It seems to work well.

Right of left side of my shorts, I dont toss and turn too much, but when I do It usually wakes me enough to move it

Egad. With my Cozmore, it didn't matter WHERE I put that thing, it bugged me. I was like the fable of the Princess and the Pea, I could not get comfortable with that thing. Now that I am on a 722, I slept soundly last night, this pump just clips better and more securely.

I don't have a pump (yet), but don't they make long enough tubes to be able to put it on a night stand? Surely they should, I mean heck - what about those who sleep in the buff?

It took me a while to get used to sleeping with a mask on my face (I have a CPAP), I dread having to get used to the pump (that's if my darn doctor will ever get back with me on it, that's a whole different story though. )

I set mine in the bed and let it go wherever it wants, I don't clip it to anything.

Me too! Unless I am wearing pajama bottoms that have a cargo pocket, then I'll stick my pump in there...until I turn over and then it's back out roaming free. :)

Although I used to sleep in the nude before the pump I've taken to wearing my boxers and clipping it on the front. I've also let it "roam free" when I have slept naked but I worry about it falling off the bed or having my partner roll onto it. :D <My nightmare is having the tube getting caught on something and having the infusion set YANKED out. OUCH.>

does it matter if you sleep on the side where you have the attachment?
i always sleep in the recovery position on my front so i wondered if that would harm the site or be uncomfortable in any way if it was on the front of my belly?

I've never had any problems sleeping on the site. I don't feel it.

I'm a side sleeper, and when I have the set on my hip it doesn't bother me at all. There have been times where it's right on a spot that twinges a bit, but I just shift myself a bit and it's fine. :)

Yeap, I sleep on the site every night, never a problem. When I play video games I sometimes lay on my stomach on my bed and clip it to the back of my pants, a serviceable system.

Hey iDream - I just noticed your A1C pre-pump was 6.1, which is pretty good. Why did you decide to go with the pump? Mainly convenience?

I just lay it on the bed beside me. Sometimes it wraps around my waist, but no big deal. I also sleep on my stomach, on the site, but I don't feel a thing.

I personally feel that I am way ahead of the curve compared to people with this disease in my age group. I try to stay away from the awful processed **** that is found in any old supermarket. I buy alot of the stuff I eat at the local health food store. I felt this way previous to diabetes, as I still do now. Enter Diabetes....I actually diagnosed myself, I knew I had this about 2 weeks before the diagnosed was confirmed....it was just intuitive, everything clicked. I knew the hospital was going to be awful, and of course it was.....these doctors know nothing, just nothing...pushing juice constantly and the awful stuff they feed you in the hospital, how can they expect a decent sugar reading?

So I get out of the hospital. They send me home with an insulin sliding scale, and at the bottom it says "If blood sugar is between 100-150 drink 8 OZ milk....what???? Have to be kidding me, get a clue, thats rediculous....

So I learn whats best for me through trial and error and pretty much mastered it, rarely eating ****.

The next step is getting that A1C between 5.0 and 5.5, thats the goal. Flexibility was the key for my decision in getting the pump along with the control increase. So far with the pump, I have only seen a number 120+ 3 times and have been between 70-100 95% of the time....

I've also thought about a cure, dreamed of being part it...gotta concentrate on being the Valedictorian of my class first, then hopefully get a scholarship. I'm seriously thinking about Cornell. I'd like to do something with alternate fuels, something with science....maybe the medical field, I'm thinking more and more now.... I think I'd make a great endo..........

I ramble way too much, sorry........ :o

The answer to your question specifically:

I just clip it to the front of my pajama bottoms or let it roam free. Doesn't bother me any.

I use 42" (43"?) tubeing, and tuck the pump under my pillow. I'm a very "active" sleeper from side to side, but the pump usually stays put just fine. I have however on rare occasions woken up just enough to notice that I was laying on it, nudged it out of the way, and dropped back off again. I never hook it to anything - it either stay under the pillow or roams free just fine.

It is one of the strangest things that most people worry about it ahead of time, and then find it really is no big deal. :)

cheers,
j

I wear a T shirt with a pocket and put the pump in the pocket. Most of the time it falls out some time during the night but no problems. I sleep on the infusion site, around the infusion site and over the infusion site..no problems. Oh, if I want the the pump to stay in the pocket for whatever reason, I close the top of the pocket with a safety pin.

On most nights I have nothing to clip it to, so I let it do what it wants. I'm much more bothered by the site than the pump. I toss and turn a lot.

I do too and usually it doesn't bother me but I've woken up with the **** thing pratically wrapped around me and can feel the tubing pulling and have to "unwrap" it in the middle of the night. Or I find I am laying on it and wake up.
