The best advice is to pick up a carbohydrate counting book at your local book store. They list thousands of food items, including fast foods, and there is also a pocket size edition.

This post on the ADA parents board explains carb factoring and has some good links to use. It was originally posted by the parent of a little boy who was diagnosed at 6 months. Good luck to you and your daughter.

I really like The Complete Book of Food Counts by Corinne T. Netzer because it lists everything........carbohydrates, calories, cholesterol, proteins, sodium, fat & fiber.

I would just go to your local book store but Barnes and Noble have so many different carb books and special ones just for diabetics. just bought the complete carbohydrate book at barnes and noble yesterday for $7.49 only. this book shows just about anything and everything. very helpful.
