You know, there's no one else to tell who would appreciate this...
As I may have mentioned elsewhere, Lantus is now available in the U.S. in a disposable pen called "SoloStar". I checked with my insurance company, and it's covered. Called the endo, left a message requesting the SoloStar. I expected a call back, but instead, he just called in the Rx. So, they're on the way, and I pick them up tomorrow. After I finish up my batch of cartridges, I can take a hammer to the stupid OptiClick pen. I think I might even throw myself a party. I am very happy. Yipeeee!

Never seen the autopen. Also, I am assuming/hoping that the SoloStar works like a normal disposable pen (really well). I'll let you know tomorrow this time...

Here is some info about the soloStart:
"SoloSTAR(R) operates with a lower injection force and a recent study found that SoloSTAR(R) required 31% less injection force than the Novo Nordisk FlexPen and 54% less force than the Eli Lilly Humulin/Humalog pen. Similar results have been observed in a second study."
"SoloSTAR(R) is the only prefilled disposable insulin pen that allows patients to administer doses from 1 up to 80 units, in one injection."
So, it appears that you can dial up 1 unit at a time, as is true with all other disposable pens.
