So today I'm doing my first basal test - just for the afternoon. I started at 1:00 and am going until 7:00 (I eat late dinners). So far my sugars have been very constant (checking about every 1/2 hour):
113
100
89
85
88
84
84
84
So I can't even eat any free foods like cheese, nuts or pickles or are those okay while basal testing? I'm so hungry and I have the worst headache! Any tips? I'm not looking forward to doing this for more than one day AND having to then do it for the other times of day. I know, I'm a baby! :D

No, simply inserting food may trigger a liver dump.
A very slight concern that you initially dropped, but they really look great! The initial drop suggests there may be a tweak hiding in your morning rates.
One interesting thing to watch for which I don't ever recall seeing in literature is whether your dinnertime bolus rates will be affected by this. When I basal test in the mornings,I need to double my lunch bolus.

rzrbks said he goes 16-18 hours! Kudos to him. I just have no energy. But yes, I'm almost done!

I had figured a good way to basal test I eat really early or late breakfast, when I do them and either a really early or late lunch, and then either a really early or late dinner.....and I will eat
Like for instance, if I want to basal test morning I will eat at 10 am so I can see where I am at till 10 am for two days, then I will eat breakfast like at 5am, yea I know early but then I figure within 5 hours by 10am insulin is gone and I eat faster acting quicker carbs too for the early meals, and no protien for those 5am's so I like don't have nothing lingering on....so I technically never skip a meal, might be a bit till lunch cause if I am testing 10am, I will only test till 12 I know it takes a lot longer but I am a big baby I cannot starve myself anymore plus, I am so thin I don't think it is wise for me LOL......

Yeah, that sounds like a good way to do it. I can't go very long without eating. Today was too long!
