I started weight-watchers. I have lost 14 pounds in 2 weeks so far on it. I have also found it very easy to follow.

Have you figured out what exactly drops your numbers?
And are you hypo or just feel hypo at a lower reading than you are accustomed?

I would try and figure that out finish and as for actual diet, I'm from the low carb camp WOE.

Hi Alys!

Yes, I have successfully lost weight. Your question, though, is a bit skimpy on details, and the answer for your situation is in the details.

Weight loss is a pretty simple thing, more calories out than calories in over time reduces weight. Time is the critical factor because sudden weight loss is treated by your body as starvation and the body will do everything in its power to bring your body back to where it was. So, successful weight loss is gradual if it is to be sustainable.

Personally, I do a lot of rather intense exercise (high intensity bicycle riding is my personal choice -- yours will prabably be different). The other side is to calculate and plan your eating so that your calories in are just a bit below the normal calories out and in that way your body has to give up some fat to balance the energy.

I also have practiced grazing -- that is dividing my caloric intake into multiple snack-sized portions through the day thereby not having a "bolus" of calories added to my system and that makes sure that all the calories are put to use almost immediately.

There are systems out in the marketplace that work, and if you can learn from them you can replicate the same results from your own kitchen.

A lot more deatil would help us help you. How much weight to you need/want to shed, what are you currently eating, what type of work do you do, how much exercise and what kinds of exercise do you like, what is actually happening to your BG levels, and what form of Diabetes are you diagnosed with, are a few of the questions I have to ask.

Two additional things that can help are counting your calories and using glucose tabs when you go hypo (rather than food).

I really learned alot taking a diabetes class. Part of the class was about a diabetic low carb diet. I learned alot of portion sizes. I had a healthy diet but I really needed to cut back on the quantity. I judge my portions based upon it was half of what my Hubby ate. HOwever....... I learned my hubby eats about 6X the amount he should. He has a fabulous metabolism and can eat whatever he wants. So...... taking that class was a real eye opener. I have lost 19 lbs this year. About .5 lbs a week. I credit getting my thyroid under control and the low carb diet.

Wish I could help. Most people I know who have done Weight Watchers have been very successful. Atkins works well too, but is very restrictive.

I have done everything under the sun to lose weight but have been unsuccessful. You name it - I've done it. Weight Watchers, LA Weight Loss, Atkins, etc. I can lose 6 pounds then the weight loss stops. I exercise daily and have upped the intensity to see if that works. My doctor says that it's all my meds that are stalling me esp. Remeron. The fat all sits on my middle - and I hate that vanity-wise. I just finished an Herbal Cleanse and even that did not work, despite the many trips to the bathroom. I am at my wit's end, but I guess I just have to let go of the it and accept my body as it tells me it wants to be .(sigh)
