earlier, i do appreciate you taking the time to reading and giving feadback.

I'm defenitly bolusing for meals, however each time i eat, the carb ratios and the blood sugar ratio bolusing is different everytime. I am on a 15 carb ratio 1.0 bolus and so on from there increments of 15. bs ratios are 80-100 1.0 bolus and so on from there, i came up with the ratio and bs ratios to try and see if that plan works better than taking any kind of bolus for meals. i do however change my basal rates by 0.2 every few days to see if that will stabalize but when i see my new endo on the 29th this month. ill take it from there and see what he can suggest.

thanks for leaving feadback.

I'm thinking she's doing a combo of MDI (using I:C) as well as sliding scale. Sliding scale is so old, I don't know anyone still on it except for those who are ramping up to MDI.

Anyhow, you definitely need to be bolusing for meals otherwise you'll always be high. There's just no way around that, sorry!

i realize it is old, i was on the sliding scale in 1986 when i was diagnosed. I went to see a nurse practioner a few weeks ago untill i see the new endo on the 29th, she said for me to do the sliding scale till i see the doctor to see it fixes the issues with the high bs's.

It must be extremely frustrating for you. I wasn't "getting it" until I read your profile that you are pumping...lol A lot of us have different carb ratios for different times of day, or for different meals. For me, I start out with a high ratio and end the day with a low ratio. While pregnant I think I ended up with something outrageous like 1:3! Funny thing is that none of my kids were over 7#5oz. :)

Good luck with the new endo!

thanks alot for your imput and also for giving me good luck on seeing the new endo.

My daughter 11 yrs ago with using insulin shots not the pump, was 9.14 lbs., huge but adorable, my sugar's were extreamly out of control, ,my son however, lucky enough was 7.12 lbs. perfect weight, still had highs and was on the pump, this pregnancy is turning out like my precious with my son, however, i've never given up, never said screw this D, ive had it, never will even when i get terrable feedback when i post a forum because someone cant comprehend that even though a carb ratio/ bs ratio is very old, some of us are still using that. i do try to do what the doc. tells me to other wise i end up looking and being the wrong one, and they always tell me " why havent u done what I told u to do or you wouldnt be in this situation if you'd just listen to what i suggested u to do, id rather put up with what they say even though they tell me to do something thats very old for D's, i still do because i dont wanna regret it.

Im only explaining all of this to u and who ever reads it because i realize my sugars arent at all where they should be but i always try and try since i was diagnosed 21 yrs ago.

Still all in all, im glad that the negative D's on these forums don't discourage me i just find them humerious but they all like everyone else do have a right to their opinion.

Thanks again. Keezheekoni
