Just tried the new Coke C2 and Pepsi Edge. The coke had 12 gms of carbs the Pepsi had 13. Each 20 oz. bottle had 2.5 servings in it.
I have tried both. I like the tast of Pepsi better. Has been along time since I have tasted a regular soda. It has both high fructose and aspartame in it.
I drank only a portion of each at a time, and for me I did not have to do a bolus. I did not notice any rise in my bgs.
Was wondering if anyone else has tried either, what you thought of the taste, if you had to bolus, and how it affected you bgs?

I want to try them both, but haven't as of right now. I drink alot of diet soda, and I know that's not the best thing to do especially w/ all those artificial sugars. I think these new reduced cal./carb. sodas must be better, because they probably have less of that. Anyway, I hope to try them soon.

I wonder why they don't use splenda in diet soda. It tastes much better than the other sweeteners and it would cut down on the carb content much more than these new "low carb" drinks they are promoting now.

Sorry fofinger, I should have worded that differently. I use a pump, instead of giving myself a shot of insulin when I eat, I do a bolus, that is how we give extra insulin with a pump.
hermitladee, Diet Rite does us splenda in its sodas. I haven't tried it yet though. Just seen the commercials for it. I have had Blue Bunny ice cream with it, it is pretty good and I can have a treat at camp without worrying about giving extra insulin.

anyone here tried drinking water lol..it's very good for your health..
It's all I ever drink, Johnny, although several people on my Bernstein forum have been talking about green tea being good for blood sugars, so I'm going to buy some and give it a try.

I drink massive amounts of water in the fall, winter and spring. But in the summer I switch to decaf tea or lemonade with stevia and/or splenda. We have a spring on our property that supplies our water for most of the year, but in the summer it dries up and we have to get "city water". Yuck!! So to cover up the taste of chlorine, and god knows what else, I have to flavor it. We did install another filter under the sink, but it doesn't get all the chemical taste out of it.
You didn't tell me that when you invited me to drink lemonade on your porch, Hermitladee!

I'll drink diet Barq's root beer occasionally, but I've never been a big soda drinker. It just doesn't seem to quench my thirst as well.
And Karen, you are probably used to drinking chlorinated, fluoridated water. I'm not. So I notice the difference. My family that lives in Indianapolis says our water - the city water - is much better than theirs. But since I'm not used to city water, I just don't like it. The filter under the sink - for drinking water - is a .5 micron filter. It filters out everything imaginable, that's why we don't have to use chlorine when we get water from our spring. So, I'm pretty sure the chlorine is more in my head more than in my mouth. I can smell it when I take a hot shower and to me it's like bathing in a swimming pool!

Jonny, I drink water but I like something with a bit more flavor also. I drink diet soda, but had to try the new low carb ones to see how they tasted. Nice to know I can have something elese to change things up.
