I wondered about the different flavored coffee beans or ground coffee I see...where does the flavoring come from?

I am too apprehensive to try them because I am just not sure if they have sugar. One bakery I go to said they purchase beans from a place locally that puts some liquid flavoring on the beans and roasts them.

I buy regular coffee and add D'Vinci's sugar free vanilla syrup. (Less than $5 at Sam's for a big bottle)

It's just like having fancy coffee shop coffee at home.

(Funny thing. I originally bought the D'Vinci's for a peanut butter cookie recipe in one of Bernstein's books. Haven't made the cookies yet, but I'm on my second bottle of syrup with coffee.)

I too, don't know how you'd calculate the pre-flavored varieties, but I haven't looked at their packages either to see the nutrition label.

P.S. Most coffee shops use the flavored syrup and most of them have sugar free varieties if you ask.

there is also a coffee flavoring that I saw at Walmart the other day that is made with Splenda and it's in little flavor packets, I think I saw French Vanilla and also Hazelnut. It's in the coffee section of Walmart. I didn't buy it because I normally don't do flavored coffee but you might want to check it out as it is made with Splenda.

I routinely buy flavored coffee (vanilla, hazelnut, etc.) and have never noticed a difference in my BG. I'm a little nervous of coffeehouse drinks that are made with syrups, but good ol' beans have never seemed to be a problem for me.
