Over 1200 that is what the dr's or hospital meter would only read up too, so I was over that.....when diagnoised
And under 20 or LO, that is all my meter would read.....so i have been both ends of the dangerous dangerous spectrum and am living to tell about it LOL....

I was dx in 1945 so I have no idea what my BGL was then. I know it was off the charts (if there were any charts then???) I had all the classic symptoms of T1 for several months before I was dx.
I was diabetic for about 40 years before glucose monitors were sold. After using the monitors I have seen a high in the 500's and a low in the teens. The ambulance crew pulled me out of the low and I signed papers that allowed me to stay home afterwards. I was OK the next morning. I have had many lows in my past before the glucose monitors existed.
The info above says I am T 1.5. That is incorrect. I am T1. How do I change that?

Well when I was diagnosed my blood sugar was 55.5mmol Closest I've came to that was about 30mmol a year later.
I've never had a super bad low that needed medical attention (knock on wood). The lowest my meter has ever read is about 2.0mmol.

560/31.1 the day I was "Caught." It had been nearly 6 hours since I'd eaten at that point.
Not sure what the lowest was since I checked at 20 minutes after having about 20oz of Coke, but at that point I had crawled back up to 52/2.8

Last year "before the pump" I was 19 one time and didnt know it. I had expected a normal BG!
I was 06 one time when I was in the hospital as a kid. I told that nurse I was low!!! :D The nurse ran out, made me a peanut butter and jelly grahm cracker sandwhich with juice and I was in the 400's the next morning!
Over 1200 at diagnosis.

My highest was 27/486, was 2 weeks after first seeing the doctor and was taking gliclizide to find out if i was Type 2. It did nothing so I wasn't...
My lowest 1.7/30.6.. 2 weeks after starting my insulin while on hols, feeling fine after watching a film, walking up to bed and then got the wobbly legs.
I can't believe some people were off the chart...! How does that feel? also never been that low that i haven't been able to treat it myself, what does it feel like to go really low?

My Highest:
Coma for 3 days when I was a teenager. The
Drs. told my Parents that I wasn't going to make it.
I didn't know about Endos, A1c's(if they had them).
I don't think I had heard of the meter yet either.
So of course, I didn't ask about any numbers). I
will presume it was over 1200.
My Lowest:
I was severely over-dosed in 1990 by a young
Nurse(Funny, I still remember her name).
I was unconscious when she tested my 7:00a.m.
blood sugar. I awoke for about 4 seconds to see
her giving me my full shots. I didn't care since I
figured she was doing things right. I actually
couldn't even think and I passed out again.
My heart stopped and my Spirit left my body.
Much was a blur. I did read from her log book
what had happened. I was shocked to see
that my blood sugar was 1.5(25) and she still
gave me my full shot.
She was suspended for 5 mths. and put on probation
for 1 year. Whippee!
Anyways, I presume my blood sugar was about -0.00.
Math was not my favourite subject. ;)

High - as high as the number can get without going into a coma. It was 1979. They said I'd lost 25% of my body fluid (excrutiating headache). Before my dad took me to the hospital, I was drinking out of a baby bottle to keep the fluids I was taking in, down. Before diagnosis, I was 18, living alone, and spent all night and day drinking and peeing (even while at work). I saved myself by driving (crossed a busy highway without being killed -- others had good breaks) to my parents house.
I was actually happy to be diagnosed. Thank God, my problem was found and could be handled.
Lowest was 19 on a meter, and that was after 2 cups of orange juice. I literally felt my consciousness come and go, but held on and never actually passed out. My husband was by my side.
Lastly - I've had 2 very scary sleepwalking incidents when my glucose levels were horribly low. Both times, I walked out of home in PJs (once it was raining) and down the street. Both times I actually found my way home, but I remember being very scared and not knowing where I was before I made the connection to some house I was familiar with. I have used these incidences as an excuse to not keep my blood sugar levels low enough. Those were accidental overdoses, and not my body going totally wacko.

The doctors that diagnosed me and treated me for the first year put me on pills. I went into a coma, all that jazz. Nothing was ever done about those 2 doctors. One is dead now and the other is still practicing medicine. I feel sorry for his patients.:(

As a teen i was in the hospital every other month in keto acidosis trying to kill myself so not sure how high they went but the one i remember was when i had moved to texas and i knew i was sick so i found a doctor to see me and went to his office he did a bood sugar and told me it was 936 and i needed to get to the hospital immediately so of course i drove home and told my fiance and he took me into the emergency room at scott and white when i waled in the guy asked me why i was there I said dr so and so said my sugars were over 900 and told me to come n he said Right if your sugars were over 900 you wouldn't be walking I said ok he called the doctors and took some blood then about 20 minutes later about ten people come running in the room hooking me up to i.v.'s and i looked at him and said how high was it he said it's above 900 I said imagine that and kinda passed out.
my lowest was 25 and that got me a trip in the ambulance while i was pregnant that was the third time it went that low and that was only in my 3rd month of pregnancy and Gary was leaving for saudi so i ended up staying my whole pregnancy in the hospital so they could keep a watch on me I think it was close to 6 or 7 months but it was military so thankfully the bill wasn't to bad. :D

highest: 554 (diagnosis)
lowest: 52
i've been pretty lucky i guess when it comes to the low number, but then again, that's the lowest it's been that i know of. i've been so low a few times that i haven't checked for fear of passing out.

When I went to see my doctor about my stress levels and the weight loss - I was 414. She told me I was diabetic. I told her I ate a few candies on the way over and asked her if she was sure. She assured me that she could eat an entire bag of sugar and she would not read 414 - then put me in the hospital.
Since DX - my lowest of lows is aprox 61.
I am still fortunate enough to know when I am having a low - I shake like a leaf and can hardly walk.

Ya Cin, it's awful how many Medical Professionals
(especially the white coats)who are out there who
shouldn't be. There are 1000's and 1000's of Patients
just in the U.S. and Canada(tons more around the
world)that are improperly dxd. and injured or "accidently"
injured/killed. Just from plain inattentiveness and stupidity.
When I was severely over-dosed in 1990, it was my
Rheumatologist who thought it was a Good idea for
me to stay about a week in Hospital for "rest and
relaxation". Ya well.....that kind of "rest", I can do
without. Thanks anyways. I never did that again. ;)
He couldn't believe it and was totally disgusted by
the Nurses actions. I'm sure there are a few others
on here that this must have happened too also or
similar.
I hope that you didn't suffer any other Bad
consequences from your ordeal. Well, hopefully if
they are still allowed in the System, Please God let
them have truly learned from their errors.

Talking about overdosing....You know when your on a IV drip of Regular in the hospital well It was in 1999, towards the end of my second pregnancy, had a pre term labor scare at 34 weeks ok enough of that long story...
Anyway, I am sitting around in my bed watching TV......and the nurse is doing something to my IV, then she rushes out, My doctor or High risk Obgyn comes in with a Sprite, and two big needles and puts them both in my IV line, Ummmm he is like drink the sprite, she gave you too much insulin, All I know is she emtied the bag in my system,
I don't know how much was left but supposedly from what I remember it was over 100 units of Regular insulin Thank god for insulin resistant pregnancy right....
But only 2 shots of I guess straight up glucose and some sprite I was fine, got the shakes for a minute which quickly went away, when he was pushing the second shot thru my IV.....
