I posted recently about my accidental overdose of Humalog and was told at the hospital to follow up with my doctor.

I'm embarrassed about it and have not done so and it has taken me all this week to get to feeling somewhat my old self again. Pun intended.

Do you all think that this is necessary? I intend to do so on a future visit but am wondering....why??

Thanks,
Nita

hi nita. glad you're feeling ok now! er always tells folks to follow...even if it's something very minor and really doesn't require follow up...it's CYA! in my opinion-what can your dr. do for you in regards to this? scold you? give you advice we already gave? i would mention it to him the next time you go,tho.....take care, trish

I know that before I became disabled the heath insurance I had through my job required at least a follow up call to my PCP or they wouldn't process the claim. I'm not sure why they required it, but the few times I ended up in the ER I made sure to call my doc. I never had to go in to see the doctor, I just had to call and let them know what happend.

Being a Belt and Suspenders kinda guy, I'd say you just need to contact your Dr.

I can't see the need! I didn't read the original post about it so maybe I'm missing something. Accidental jabbing is just something that happens to us sometimes. Probably all of us will do it at some stage, that's what happens when injections become 2nd nature.
I wouldn't worry about it... but that's just me :D
