Your A1c is an average of the past few month so if your sugar is good this week, your A1C has gone down. It will take a few months of good numbers to get a good A1C. A good A1C is not good if it means you are spiking and going low a lot

A1c is basically an average of the prior three months - however it is a highly weighted measurement with the most recent time period having the greatest influence. I would think getting an A1c more often than every other month would be a waste.

From my experience, A1c numbers can change drastically in three months time. Mine was 11.4 at diagnoses and 5.3 three months later.
