This is the third date insurance told me that they would give me an answer on cgms. Tomorrow. The other 2 dates they came up with excuses why they don't have on yet. Will they have a decision tomorrow? Place your dibs now!

Good luck, funnygirl.........I really hope you get an answer today! My endo submitted a letter to my insurance back on July 2nd and I'm STILL waiting for an answer. I've called United Healthcare several times and all they keep saying is "it's under review".

I doubt it mainly because this takes time. And since there's not enough research studies showing the true benefit of a CGMS there isn't much benefit to an insurance company. All the benefit is "assumed" and not "proven."

My endo was able to find some studies on the benefit and cited those. I didn't make up this date, this is the day they told me it's be done. I have class now, but when I come back, I'm calling.

This poll reminds me of the magic 8 ball, all signs point to.....

I hope you get a good answer today.

The "Nos" have it! Try again tomorrow, probably by Thursday is the answer now. However, "We approve these things all the time." Okee...

Sheesh. I sure hope they don't continue to string you along. :( Hopefully they will provide an answer for you by Thursday & hopefully, it's a "Yes."

Similar to what Beth said in another thread, it's frustrating enough trying to juggle blood sugar levels (control & balancing), as well as dealing with other people's ignorance. Throw the hassle of dealing with insurance (or in her case, pharmacies) in the mix & you have a cocktail for the reasons why many suffer health troubles (at least in my not so humble opinion).

Sorry they're putting you through this, Funny. :(
