Don't ever store used test strips in your meter case.

While I was "off my feet" this weekend, I was putting old test strips in the little pocket inside of my meter case. (no place else to put them and didn't want to get up). After about twenty five tests in two days (numbers were high all weeked) I opened the case and all of them came spilling out all over the bed. Well.....I didn't notice. I hobbled downstairs to get some water and found test strips stuck to my......... well....... stuck to me. Test strips sprinkled all over the house. I found my dog with one, one in my slipper, a couple on the kitchen floor and many of them still stuck to me (funny what people find amusing when you don't feel so great. :T

Kinda like walking around with toilet paper stuck to your shoe. ;)

Please people. Save the embarrassment and throw those little things away properly.

Gonna go brush my hair and peel off the rest of the stuck strips.

I was putting mine in an empty strip container. I asked my mom one day when I was there to bring me my meter. She brought the used container and was getting ready to take a strip out for me to use before I stopped her. Now, I use a highlighter and mark the container with the used strips in it. Works great when finding a trash can is not convient.
Funny story Nancy. Laughter is the best medicine.:D

:D Pretty funny.

They really need to make them easier to handle. I hate it when they are stuck together coming out of the vial and fall all over.

I never put used strips in old containers. Probably because the habit I have to make sure I take a container that has strips is that whenever I pick a container up, I shake it to check that there are strips inside. That's all because of the time I put an empty tube in the meter kit. Ever since, I've gotten in the habit of shaking tubes to check for strips. But I'd defeat that purpose if I put used strips into containers.

Usually end up collecting a bunch of used ones on an old stereo speaker that serves as a nightstand, every now and then I sweep them all up and toss them in the trash.

Very funny! Just the thought of it makes me laugh. Being covered from head to toe with those used test strips would make a great horror movie :D

Cripes, I find the suckers everywhere: the car, front walk, in bed -- probably in every room in the house.

When I got my monitor I was told to store the used strips in a container and throw the container in the trash. Had to do with protecting trash collectors from things with blood on them.

I always toss my used one in my kit... makes my husband furious. The worst is when they spill all over in your car or inside my purse. They are everywhere around my house, though I've been better about throwing them away now that we have a little kitten. I also have those caps for when you disconnect your pump everywhere too.

I keep a ziploc sandwich bag in my kit. When I am at home I empty the bag. When it gets disgusting, I replace it. New to this so I don't have any funny stories yet.
