Am I the only one who, upon opening a new box of strips, desperately hopes for a different number? I use the one touch meters, and I've had nothing but 9's ALL summer long....I opened a new box of 100 stips earlier this week and I was so hoping for a different number...but I got 9 again!
In May I had some 1's, which was a first.
I know this is silly, but there it is.

I'm the same way. I know it's stupid, and it really is pretty much nothing, but it's just one of those things. BTW, I just got 2 boxes of 9s a few weeks ago. This was after several boxes of 23s. Never had 9s before...
Exciting lives we lead. :)

How funny! I never pay that much attention to what the #'s are...i'd actually like to have more of the same #'s so I wouldn't have to change the stupid codes..I use the one-touch as well. I'm on code 22 right now, had code 16 before...I don't think i've ever had the same code on 2 months of strips since i've been using them (a year).

I have 5 boxes of 9's at home from my latest mail order, before that I was getting 4's.
Ok, time to get a life, lol

I just started a new batch and was "upgraded." I think for at least the last year I had been on 8's and this new box finally was a 9. I think when coding goes away on Lifescan meters that I might actually cry.

I understand that! I actually ENJOY opening a new box to see what the number will be...like it actually matters!

Is anyone into numerology? Maybe all this means something. I usually get 24's and 25's.

I've used AccuChek for years and years, and I've never had the same code twice in a row.

My Freestyle strips are a different code EVERY month! For once, I wish I would get a new code! On the other hand, I just got a month of One Touch strips, to try out the Ultra 2 for a bit, maybe I will have some same code consistency!

I'm new and have only had 3 packages of strips (25 each package). One 9 and two 1's.

I just opened a new box of strips and its a 9 too. Almost befitting a conspiracy theory...

I don't think I ever got any 9. 8 & 15 seem to be my numbers.

I've had lots of 9s and 8s as well. Does anyone know exactly what the coding means anyway? I get that it's supposed to ensure the monitor's calibrated correctly but what exactly does that mean?
In the meantime, I don't know about you but I think I'm going to go buy a lottery ticket.

Every box I've received since May has had the code 9. Guess they (Lifescan) had an over production of them! LOL

So I opened my package from the supply company... Supposed to be One Touch Ultra Strips. I open the box to see ONE TOUCH 2/Basic/Profile strips!!! I haven't seen/used these in 10 years! My supply company is sending a rep to my house tomorrow to exchange for the right ones...

I thiink it just depends on the batch. Especially if you mail order you're expiration dates are probably the same on all your boxes too. Mine are for both my One Touch and my Freestyle. I like getting the same code as I am pretty bad about changing it.

I guess we need to start a test strip exchange program. We could run it like the game "Go Fish":D :D :D

Was all 9's until a couple of weeks ago -- now 16's for a while. But truly, what the heck does it matter??? In my huge list of things I need to care about, this doesn't even register!!!!

I have the Minimed Medtronics meter (BD strips). I get 20 and now 21s nearly all the time & would like to see something else. I'm worried that I might not change the code when I need to someday. Plus I think it's fun to change!
A couple years ago, I was the first person at my pharmacy to request my brand of testing strips. I guessed maybe they ordered huge quantities & I haven't used them all up yet! I just checked expiration date & it's March 2009.

I wondered if I was the only one with all these 9's! I'll have to call my dad tomorrow and see if he's been getting 9's all summer, too.
Last year I went through what seemed like MONTHS of 16's.

Yall're making me laugh. One Touch Ultra test strips, here. I, too, have had quite a few 9's recently. Right now though, I have 17's, and previous to that they were 1's.
I too, would prefer to get the same code over and over, 'cause I'm lazy, I guess. :D If I do get a new code, I like it when it is a number barely larger than the previous one, so that I have to push the button a very limited number of times. Like if I have to give up on 9, well, 10 is next best. See? Lazy, I say. Lazy! :D
I'd rather not see prime numbers, though.
I think we may have stumbled upon the basis for a personality test.

Since DX I have been using 30's
Just last week I bought 2 boxes. Low and behold 9's
The 9's are everywhere.
Kinda like the movie The Number 23 - but not as extreme.

Out of my last 250, 150 were 15's, 100 were 11's.
No 9's in a long time.

Changing the code doesn't bother me...but I think there is a rule that if the new code you get is a large difference from the one you already had, you will be low when it's time to re-code. It's fun pushing that little button when you're hands are shaking uncontrolably.......

I use Freestyle Flash strips. For about a year I had 17s. Now I'm switching between 13 and 9.
