I went in to see a doctor in a clinic for a diabetes checkup, and all he did was check my blood pressure and drew some blood from my finger tip.

Is this enough to determine if I have diabetes or not?

Thanks ;)

Why do you think you have diabetes? Teally need more info to answer the question. The doctor may have been just testing to see what you sugar was at that moment. Did he order any more blood tests or schedule you to come back in to do a fasting test for 2 hours? Did you ask you to take your readings at home for a while then come back? Doesn't sound like he thought you were diabetic if that's all he did.

Im worried.
I get a cobweby kind of numb feeling from head down my right arm.
Also, my sex drive has dropped.

Also my mom has diabetes.

I think Im going to the hospital very soon.

You symptoms may be a circulatory problem such as a artery blockage. This could be brought on by having uncontrolled diabetes for awhile. You can always use your mothers meter to test if you live near her. Persistent numbness may be a good reason to visit the emergency room if your doc is not available

the real unfortunate thing is Im overseas and my mother is still pre-diabetes. She has it under control via diet.

Keith,
Welcome to the forums :shakehand

Please give the group more information, this group can help, (in my opinion) , more than what you get at a doc visit.

Do you have a meter? to check BG's
Are you on any meds?

See you

no medicine at all.
Im starting to think that I might be best go to the hospital the clinic doesnt seem the right route.

Im overseas right now.
Im in South Korea.
Medicine here is fairly advanced

Ive had these conditions for 2 weeks now.
The numbness seems to come and go.
It seems to be very slowly getting better but my sex drive is still much lower than before. (not gone but kinda low)

Im 35.
Kinda slim but always have been.
Seem to be gainning weight slowly which I think might just be normal.

It's tough for anyone without a meter to say they have it under control. But no matter. I guess it would not be too expensive there to get a meter and some test strips. Test yourself premeal and post mean 1 and 2 hours. If you are going high, the sooner you get it towards normal the better you'll be
