Fine so far. Oh except for me listening to loud music
for the past year and a half with the head phones
while on this blimy computer. I will probably pay for

My hearing seems to get worse every year. I cannot understand half of what is said on the TV, and unless I really concentrate, I need to ask people to repeat things. Some of it may just be because I am getting older, and I remember my grandmother having trouble hearing. It could just be another thing I inherited. I keep thinking I should get it checked, but that's one more doctor to see, one more hassle with the insurance.....I get so tired of it all.

20 to 30% hearing loss in both ears and hearing aids would help, insurance does not cover them , so I have to see what they will cost and find the money.

There are several type 2 diabetics in my family, all of them older than me, and they all have developed hearing problems. Until now I figured it was just a normal condition of aging.

I have slowly been losing my hearing.I've had my ears checked several times for irritation or earaches but I have had problems since I was a child with my ears. I've not had them checked,however for hearing. I know that I should,I just haven't yet. It's very aggravating for myself and for others that try to tell me something. But It seems to me that everyone else around me is always saying huh? or what? also. Is everyone hard of hearing these days?

My hearing is excellent............**** do we end up loosing all of our senses. Let's see, going blind, neuropathy so numbness and pain, so that is feeling, Now hearing..............What next?

I have excellent hearing...probably because I can't see very well, have worn glasses since age 14. My dad, age 65, has quite a bit of hearing loss (he's not diabetic).

My hearing isn't the best :(

I'm always asking people to repeat what they've said, and if I'm not looking at people when they talk then they're all mumbling and muttering, I can't quite make out what they say unless they're facing me - which I guess means I've picked up a little lip reading and body language without really noticing it.

My Nana was quite deaf and wore a hearing aid. She wasn't diabetic though - that family trend was started by my father and hopefully ends at me! I can't imagine D being to blame for my hearing loss - either it's just a genetic thing, or all those years listening to my walkman as a teenager probably blew away a few necessary bits deep within my ears. Doh.

Other than the tinnitus,(which is related to Lantus--I'd bet on it.) I have perfect hearing for an Old Phart my age. I get checked regularly.

More discouraging news for diabetics...

My hearing has decreased a little bit since i've been diabetic, and I'm not the kind of person that listens to loud music very often and I very rarely use headphones in my ears (sometimes when I'm at the gym).

My hearing is still quite good, but theres definitely a noticeable difference from say, 5 years ago... Not to mention that hearing loss also runs in my dad's family; don't know if that affects it or not.

I thought my hearing was going, as I can't hear a word my husband says. So I bit the bullet and had a hearing test. It turns out I hear perfectly and that it's his fault because he mutters. I think that happens a lot between spouses. We get so used to talking to each other that we don't make an effort to project our voices. Either that or we use selective hearing :)

My hearing is not to bad.work for airline company for 32 years had an hearing test when i left in 2005 .everything O.K Bye Ricky
