Ok, I'm an idiot. Just got into work this morning and realised I've left my Novorapid at home. I know I'll be starving at lunchtime. Anyone got any suggestions what I should have for lunch today?

days like this im glad i use a handbag/purse!
my suggestion is depending on how your body handles proteins id probably have a chicken or tuna salad without the white carbs. and if you are still peckish in the afternoon get some nuts to munch on. it beats starving when your trying to work. and at least its slow release too.

Seriously good call on the nuts. Munching away on a pack of peanuts now (with an amusing 'WARNING: Contains peanuts' written on the back) and they're actually filling me up.
Also just munched on a very weird lunch - a sort of cheese wrap I've made by wrapping cheese in ham.
Think that's 11g of carbs overall for lunch.
I am so going to have an extra-large deep pan pizza when I get home.

How about a small salad?
Good luck today! Let us know how you did.

Hope it goes OK, you've got a good excuse to go home early.
lunch is probably finished by now but I can recommend Moules Frites!(although you might not be able to find those on a Tuesday lunchtime anyway)
Saturday, Moules frites a volunte at a local restaurant. Large bowl of Moules, pile of chips plus other veg. I thought at least 80 carbs and after turning handbag inside out realised that I hadn't got my pen. I decided to eat only the moules and veg but disapointment and greed took over so I ate all the chips as well. Tested 2 hours later, BS was only 143! (overcorrrected cause I couldn't believe that it wouldn't rise later and went low)

Definitely not going lo-carb permanently -just had great fun wandering round Asda and piling my basket full of stuff I can now eat again - pizza for tonight, and ingredients for making my own stir-fry for tomorrow. Oh, and an Acai smoothie
Also, low-carb didn't actually work. I haven't really bothered testing much today because, well, what's the point? I'm not going to be able to take any action on the result. But I was 10.4 for post-prandial and now another 3 hours later I'm 10.5. Personally I blame my liver - it's felt like I've not eaten today so it's probably been a bit panicky.

I've been there before...and I usually start thinking protein, nuts, cheese...maybe a salad with a small amount of dressing.
Sounds like you did good...hope you enjoy your pizza tonight!

You could have used the opportunity to basal test. Or maybe you did. Perhaps your lunch bolus is slightly high to compensate for low basal. Do you find that you tend tto go low when you eat large lunches? That was an indicator for me.
