Lately I have been paranoid of going low. I feel like i'm going crazy sometimes. My insurance would pay for cgms but I don't know, is it really worth it? I don't know if having 2 things on my stomach is worth it.

I know in another thread you mentioned you were having anxiety issues. Have you done anything to deal with that yet?

the funny thing is that went away after like 2 weeks. Every once in a while i will feel one coming on but then it just never happens. Maybe i was just going through some stressfull phase of life or something. I am not SO afraid of having them anymore, and if one comes again i will be ready.

I feel your pain and am sorry you are going through it :( . I have suffered through very, very bad bouts of hypoglymecaphobia. It used to cripple me to my home when I was younger. That was back on NPH too and when used wrong in conjunction with R can make for some looong unfun lows.

I'm paranoid about lows also. I passed out at work in January of this year, I have complete hypo unawareness, and have a physical job, so I'm constantly testing. I also had 2 passout episodes in the last 2 years, as I cycle to work and passed out without warning on the way home. Yes, I did not test as much then, and I was using Humulin R & N when I had those incidents. I now have the pump and test 10 times, minimum, a day, usually closer to 15 times.
My work's insurance would not cover the CGMS, but did cover 94% of the pump cost. If you have coverage, I say go for it. You will only help yourself learn how your body responds to, well, everything. I was on an "exchange" system for 20 years and basically had NO idea how various foods affected me, until I started carb-counting with the pump. Protein makes my sugar go up about 4 hours after....coffee makes my sugar go up....high-fat foods don't increase my sugar for 2 hours....
So, even if you have the CGMS for a short period of time, you will only increase your knowledge and methods to combat lows.
