Ok, so i just shot out of bed at 6am check the bg for some odd reason it is 184, so I bolus in the dark to what I thought was a unit right.....

well then about 7:30, I am feeling funky, ya know I think am i going higher nope I was 103, so I bolus for breakfast and just wait about 5 minutes and eat.....cause I so didn't want to go high or low or whatever is gonna happen...

Well I am doing stuff around the house and after I think 4 phone messages to my husband, I mean I was awful...I started to feel low, but I am like nah.....well Ok, now I feel just utterly weak really really weak, I am struggling to find my meter, which was actually right in front of my face....

Check it 26 what the ****, I check it again and trying desperately to find my juice boxes, I was kind of pannic a little bit, OK, I am lying ALOT, because it is just me and Jacob, I still was good I just drank my juicy juice box....and about 3 sunchips to satisfy that god awful hunger you feel if your really low...

Well 20 minutes later I start or am starting to think a little more clear.....I was 54 ok good we are going up

I look at my pump, and I bolused for that 184 2 units.....oh and it wasn't 184 either, I look at my meter and that number was 144....so first off I wasn't really high high, I know still not a good number and then I bolus way way too much How the heck did I not drop....

I am having a tiny dp issue here lately with the weather change and all that so I am working on an over night basal....

I must of been totally out of it at 6am this morning I screwed up twice, cause I was supposed to take like 1.4 units for the high, I thought I was dropping it to 1 unit, but I upped it to 2 units and then I was 144 not 184, no wonder I was only 103 an hour or so later, it usually takes me two hours to reach that number if I am high especially overnight high...

Thank god I am ok....

hope the hubby forgives me LOL...

My vision is always blurry when I wake up. I know not to trust any of my readings until I've been up half an hour or so.

Glad you're ok.

Hi Cheryl.
My full sympathy. It can really ruin your morning (or whenever) when you mess up a dose. Only other diabetics understand that you have to deal with it for the next three hours, and you aren't even positive what the result will be because of the liver dump!

Since my vision is not as good when the light is low, I NEVER test or dose in the dark. I turn on the lamp, pull out my nightstand "testing drawer" and do the whole production. My husband makes jokes about sleeping in Yankee Statium :T I find that the light makes me less foggy too, less likely to make mistakes.

I also disconnected my bolus button on my pump for the same reason. Too easy to accidentally push it.

So far I am alright, I was 99 for lunch whew, I was so nervous about a liver dump overload....but that 99 was about 2and half hours after the 26, and soon it will be 4 hours afterwards, I am so hoping for an ok day, I'll take a 140 just please no no massive rollercoaster LOL....

Oh my. I use the backlight on my 522 when there isnt alot of light. and if I get a high reading, I wash my hands and retest. Helps to clear out the cobwebs a bit.

Maybe it would be beneficial to use the meter that came with your pump. Use the IR feature and also use the pump wizard to correct for highs. Fewer *oops*'s taht way.

jsut a suggestion. you have the technology.....:)
