Actually I am facing with some weird problem. Before diagnosis, I use to go to restroom 5-6 times in a day (not immediately before diagnosis). Now from last 6 months or so I go to restroom for at least 8-10 times per day specially I have to go once around 3:00 am. Initially I thought it is because of high BS but whenever I check my BG in the morning it stays between 90-100 and at bedtime also it stays between 90-100. I don’t know whether it is a big deal or not but I don’t like getting up in the middle of night and have a disturbed sleep afterwards. Have anyone of you had this kind of experience? Does low carb has anything to do with this (because carb retains water)?

There are conditions other than diabetes that can produce this symptom, like an enlarged prostate for example. You should talk to your doctor about this.

This was my first thought too!

I agree with the others. Enlarged prostate (BPH) is quite common in men, esp those over 50 , though some start havig problems in their 40's (not sure how old you are). I work at a urology office, and there are different treatments that can help with this. There are also prescription meds that can shrink the prostate (Proscar and Avodart) and/or relax the bladder (you've probably seen commercials for Flomax and Uroxatrol), and there are surgical procedures if this becomes an unmanagable problem.
Here's a good website for information:
Prostate Enlargement: Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (http://kidney.niddk.nih.gov/kudiseases/pubs/prostateenlargement/)

I am just 29 years old....so this possibility seems low to me. Thanks everyone for your input.

Do you typically drink a lot of fluids after 6 p.m.? If you do, might want to try cutting back and see if this helps.
Are you waking up because you have the urge to go, or just waking up and then deciding while you're awake you should go? If you aren't sleeping well, you might want to consider taking something to help. Melatonin works well for me, as does Benadryl (though it makes me feel sluggish the next morning).

Actually, I have a urge to go..so I have to wake up in the middle of the night...but I think I drink plenty of water whole day which I wasn't use to before..I will try to cut back that in the late evening. Last month I was in France on a business trip and didn't experienced this problem over there..may be because of lack of water intake.
Thanks for your suggestion.

hello,
Before you diagnose yourself with PSBS "peanut sized bladder syndrome" or some other issue, I know that I enjoy the taste of natural tea (hot tea) and drink tea all throughout the day. Hence, I pay the price, if you know what I mean. Yes, frequent pit stops! However, I rarely wake up to use the restroom but there are spells where I will, oddly enough it is usually between 3 and 4 am, even when my blood sugar is behaiving itself.
When I was first diagnosed my doctor asked me if I was excessively thirsty. I thought "I drink all day" so I answered yes. Then he asked if I had frequent urination, I said "Yes". The next week I tried to limit myself to drinking only when I was truly thirsty. I felt no great desire to drink otherwise. I didnt have dry mouth or anything. I stopped unrinating as much......what a surprise, duh.
Non the less I am diabetic. My wife on the other hand is not, and she makes more "pit stops" than I do sometimes in the middle of the night. The best thing we can do is monitor and try not to panic, the body does strange things most of the time! We just pay a little more attention because of what we are watching for.....

My son, 25 years old, just told me a couple weeks ago that he's got some issues. Just sayin'.
