I don't really need the gigantic sharps container anymore...

That reminds me that my container is full - time for a new one! How are things going for you? Seems like an impossible thing. (the transplant that is!:))

So are you hanging on to the sharps container as a reminder of how it used to be? :)

Are you forever on immunosuppressants?

Just a pictoral comment on how I managed to exchange a few syringes for a whole lotta oral meds. And I'd do it again.

Things are going well, yes I take immunosupression meds. Two of them. the rest are for other things like blood pressure, high cholesterol, mouth uclers (actually a large number of those bottles are meds that attempt to relieve pain and heal the mouth ulcers. They're stubborn), vit D deficiency and other fun minor side effects. All of the side effects I've had from the immunosupression meds are things I already had but are exacerbated by the drugs. And some of the meds I take two doses of (ie. two 2mg tabs and one 1mg tab a day etc). So it looks worse then it actually is. ;)

Blood sugar wise thing are going well too! I only had one transplant, many people need two or three to get off of insulin and I've been insulin free for 15 months. Woot! so we'll see what happens in the future. meanwhile I'm one happy camper.

Ah!! got ya! I though those were ALL IS's!!! and was like uhh, is that a fair tradeoff?? But since the majority of meds are stuff we have to take as pump/mdi'ers anyhow it makes a lot of sense.

I am so glad the transplant is holding well for you!!! I am jealous!! lol Hopefully what you participated in lets us all in someday or leads to therpy without IS. Even if it's with IS's I would like to try it and am pretty sure I would like cells worrying about my BGL and insulin requirement then my brain! lol

rock on!
