If you are pumping Apidra, I would like to hear how you are doing with the 3 day set change. Is the Apidra lasting the whole three days or is anyone getting a tapering off effect in the Apidra on the 3rd day?

I loved the quick action of Apidra but had problems with effectiveness on the third day. I use a 43" tube and keep it tucked next to my skin most of the time, maybe that keeps it too warm. Maybe the sample vials the Doc gave me were old.

Should I try again?

I have done Apidra for 7 months with 3 day set changes with no problems at all.

I have been using apidra since April when I started pumping. I have not had any problems. I like apidra better than other short acting insulins i have used in the past.

I tried Apidra for 2 vials, and found it noticeably petered out after 2 days. I have since switched back to Novolog.

I always keep my pump in a pocket. This may have something to do with it; keeping it there causes the insulin to remain warmer for its life in the pump.

I've went 4 days many times and haven't noticed a problem.

Is there a common thread here on how you wear your pump? Is it always clipped to your jeans or otherwise away from your body?

I'm a pocket person too, and my tube is always coiled (at least some of it) next to my skin.

Go ahead. Ask if I'm writing a book :) No. This is just for personal use.

My pump is in my pocket, except in bed, when it is clipped to me.

I just switched to Apidra, will be on a pump very soon. Have some of you found that you need less Apidra that the other fast acting insulins? Also is the weight gain or difficulty loosing weight about the same?

I need about 7% less Apidra than Novolog

I tried several vials of Apidra actually liked it, but, for my personal success Novolog was better.

Apidra peaked faster for me also the tail was shorter. Some stated that they got 3 1/2 to 4 hours with Apidra. I would get for me 2 1/2 to 3 at most.

Novolog not quite as fast and get more tail end from it.

I'm talking the half life of Apidra for me was noticably shorter than Novolog. I get more for my money in my case.

It would not surprise me to learn that a Month on Apidra then a Month with Novolog would be better just alternating.
