Need a replacement case for my Cozmo. Very unhappy with the current Cozmo case design, having gone through 2 in 30 months (the spring clip keeps breaking).

Have found a suitable generic cell phone case that fits the pump well.

However, the closure flap on this generic case uses a magnet on the flip cover and associated case body to secure the cell phone (or pump) into the case.
When the pump is in this generic case, the magnet is right over the pump display.
My concern is the magnet could affect operation of the pump.

Is anyone using such an alternate case solution that uses a magnet to close the flap / case? Does the magnet appear to have an impact on pump operation?

Are you talking about the black leather case that holds the pump with the Cozmonitor attachment? That one broke on me 3 times before they redesigned it finally. I've been using the new one for a few months now without an issue.

If you haven't tried that one already, give customer service a call and tell 'em how many you have broken. They're bound to replace it as a service.

Funnygirl has also tried many cases, so you may want to ask her.

Good luck.

I got a similar case from Verizon, and yeah, it was a magnetic-flap. I used a sharp X-acto knife to cut both magnets out, and fashioned some industrial-strength velcro to size, and used that to hold the pump case shut. Worked well. You can get such velcro anywhere, Wally World, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

My pump trainer kept reiterating today to NOT use a case with magnets. She must have told me that over 100 times in the hour I spent with her.:) Said it would mess up the pump's functions.

That's true. I think some users may have found out the hard way. ;)

I love the velcro idea, because it's easy to modify, and the velcro would cover any holes that were/are created by taking the magnets out.

I will say that I've never used magnetic cases, as there's concern over what effects it could have on the pump (especially considering how magnets can affect computer monitors, depending on the magnet strength, etc.). Anyway, it's good to be innovative...now if I can just create the type of case I've been wanting to, I'll be set! ;)
