Just wanted to give props (again, hehe) to my Cozmo pump. We went swimming in Hot Springs, S.D. over the weekend & it did great! I never once had to worry about its functionality as I went down the slides & swam underwater.
It's nice to give props to our pumps every now & then. Most of the time, we post about things that go wrong with them, so it's good to post when things are going right, too.
Over the time I've had this pump, I've swam in lakes, the ocean & pools (& I guess you could say this weekend's swim was kind of "in the river" ;)).

No problems with effectiveness of your insulin eh? It didn't break down with the heat? That would have been my concern. Good on the Cozmo.

While Cozmo is the only pump I have had, I am extremely satisfied with it. My four years are up in Dec. and I will be getting a new one.
I have a question for those who upgraded from the 1700 to the 1800 this spring. Do you really use the Meal Maker? I am so used to looking at my meal and punching in the carbs, I really can't picture it being much of an improvement for me, but I would like hear from those who have used the 1700 and 1800.
I'm kinda a "less is more" type of guy, and probably would buy another 1700 ( if it was cheaper than the 1800 ) since I am so used to it and satisfied with it.

Hello Dewey, As you know that i'm a MDI control but if I were to get a pump I guess Cozmo's the go. I hear that cozmo is a good pump from a lot of diabetics.
It's good to share your experiances with this fine product. Thanks Dewey. :D
Good reminder, Dewey. Just for the record, I LOVE my Cozmo too. Dependable. Tough. Great customer service.
Jungle Jim, Meal Maker isn't one of the things I use either, but there are other new things too. I spent two weeks with the glucose testing alarm set two hours after a meal bolus. It tuned me right up!
Jimbo, I would worry about my insulin getting cooked in a hot spring too. Novolog hangs in there pretty well in most situations. Mich

I did actually use the meal maker once in awhile, usually when I was eating foods I was unsure about.
The 1800 is a HUGE improvement on the 1700.
They don't sell the 1700 in the US anymore, so you'll be getting an 1800, but you can make the 1800 identical to the 1700 if you just disable the new features.
