Has anyone been on a roller coaster with a medtronic pump? I'll be going onto Thunder Run at Canada's Wonderland tonight, and I'd like to know if I need to disconnect, suspend it, or be able to keep it on while I'm on the ride.

Thanks! Any input will be appreciated, I've only been pumping for 2 months....still new to this.

I have been on roller coasters before with my pump and never disconnected. The pump I was using at the time was an Animas 1250. However I have the 722 and am going to Kings Island in Ohio in a few weeks, and plan on leaving it hooked up. I have never had a problem with my pump on roller coasters. The only thing I do different is put my pump in my front pocket instead of keeping in the case on my side.

Have fun!

I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure it's fastened securely. There's two pumps playing in the NHL. I think if that can happen, a roller coaster is peanuts.

Rollercoasters are fine. Just make sure it's securely attached to your pocket or elsewhere.

Walking around an amusemnet park is great with a pump! It's so much easier to be spontaneous!

Last time I was at such an amusement park, I was using a MM 508, and never thought twice about it. This summer, actually, we took the kids to Lancaster PA to Dutch Wonderland...those rollercoasters are lame compared to the adult rides, but again, I rode them with my son and never thought twice about it. And according to CGMS, I was fine.

So how did it go?

It's the pulling of G's and Gravity and Air Pressure.

Liquids act differently in these conditions. I'm not sure how the Pump would react in space or on a Rocket or in a Jet Fighter doing his moves.

If you want a bumpy roller coaster...try the old wooden coaster on the boardwalk in Santa Cruz, CA!
