Hi all,

I got a couple of freebie meters today - Ultra2 and Ultrasmart. I decided to compare them to my Accu-Chek Aviva.

1 hour post prandial (I was bad - meatloaf and a baked potato :o):

Aviva - 174
Ultrasmart - 145
Ultra2 - 135

I know about the 20% and all of that but wow!

If I had been using the Ultra2 all of this time things would look quite a bit different.

I guess this illustrates the importance of regular lab tests.

At 2 hours they agree:

Aviva - 113
Ultrasmart - 100
Ultra2 - 107

I guess that the baked potato wasn't so bad for my BG? That's especially true if you believe the Ultra2 at 1 hour.

I forgot to mention - each time I only did one finger stick for all three tests.

I was going to ask about that...

For your own entertainment, next time poke each finger and do 5 tests with only 1 meter, see the differences there.

Yes, it does show the importance of lab results. And personally I think I rather have my meter read higher so that I'm pleasantly surprised come lab time!
