My Freestyle Flash is glitzing out for some odd reason. 18 months of good service isn't bad, but I'd hoped for better.

Anyway, what are your suggestions for a replacement? Another Flash? Or something else?

I don't much need all the bells and whistles, just a solid, reliable meter.

Ashtur,

I have an Accu-Chek Aviva that I like.

I recently got a couple of freebies: UltraSmart and Ultra2. They seem to be a bit more finicky about blood on the strip and they are slower to get ready for a sample.

So far I prefer the Aviva.

I registered for a free Freestyle Lite but I haven't received it yet...

I got a freestyle freedom at diagnosis a year ago. Currently, I am using the One Touch Ultra-II and Ultra mini, both free from either the forum freebie thread or Dlife TV commercial. I prefer the One Touch Ultra II....I like the way you can mark post-meal #s. Also, it routinely gives a reading 7-10 points LESS than the freestyle did...I like that in a monitor:D (It is in line with my A1C as well).

Don't ever pay for a monitor...too many ways to get freebies. Checkout the "Diabetes freebies" thread on the forum.

Long live another flash. I love the small size. ;) Call and get a replacement.
