Hi all, not posted for a while as have been in hospital due to a very bad hypo, and due to hypo unawareness have been waiting nearly 4 months for PCT to say they will fund a pump for me.

Well at 8.30am this morning Jane my diabetes nurse phoned me up to tell me funding has come through, so hopefully now it will be all systems go.

Hopefully now i will be able to join in more and ask advice as and when needed. Must inform you all my confidence is at an all time low, due to all thats been happening, not been allowed to work, and loneliness so please bare with me.

I am happy for you about the pump, hopefully it will improve your problems with Diabetes. I wish you were not lonely, that is almost worse than Diabetes. There are many very nice people on the forum, I hope you make many friends.

Great news, I hope pumping really works for you too!

That hypo risk will still be there, but you'll be able to minimize it and their intensity. You'll have to get your basal rates fine tuned asap so you can get back on track. You'll also have to learn about bad sets and how to deal with those and potential stacking problems.

Yes i know there is a lot to learn, and i also know about hypos as have suffered quite a few in the last 35 years, but nothing to what i have been experiancing this last year. My B.Ms can drop to as low as 1.3 and i'm carrying on as normal no warnings nothing. My quality of life at moment is practically zero. Oh and now a broken left arm due to bad hypo 2 weeks ago.

Thank you for your replies, and hoping i can rely on you all here for any help i may need
