Just curioud how those of you who tape down your Medtronic CGMS transmitter aka the shell.
How do you remove the tape residue?
I want to make sure that I don't use anything that will damage the plastic shell.
I don't mind the residue so much, but all of the lint that sticks to it makes me crazy!

I use an alcohol swab or some nail polish remover.

I found alcohol swab didn't work, the nail polish remover might have.

Are you referring to the IV3000 tape? If so, this is the same thing that happened with me when I used that. Try out Tegaderm by 3m and see if that works better. For me, the Tegaderm leaves little or no residue and lasts ~6 days.

To remove the sticy mess caused by an IV3000, just connect an old sensor to the transmitter to plug the hole, then wash it with soap, water and a rough cloth. It took me a while to realize I could just plug the hole with an old sensor.

I think that I answered my own question when I read through some of the old posts here on the site.

I just used the same IV Prep wipe to clean the goo of of my shell when I was prepping the area. Then when I was waiting for the IV Prep to dry I gave it a quick wipe with the eyeglass cleaning wipe that I was using for my glasses. That took care of the IV Prep stickiness, and everything was clean asa whistle.
I know it sounds like a lot of work, but the whole thing took maybe two minutes tops.
YMMV
