pump $$$$$ question

what pump is the best bang for your buck? And which one is the cheapest. The only info I have is on the minimed and it's 7200$ canadian the cgms is about 800 for a total of 8000$. Of that I'd have to cough up 1600$. Not sure if the benifits outway the cost and if there is another alternative ( to minimed) here in Canada. Thanks

Prices are pretty much the same.

If its not too much of a financial burden to front the cost, it is definately worth it.

My personal opinion is the CGMS is a nice-to-have toy. While I acknowledge the benefits and argue vehemently for insurance coverage, I've not yet felt the need to take the plunge. But I test a lot.

You'll find that supplies for the MM are readily available at pharmacies around here, but not all carry them. I don't know any that carry other pumps' supplies. You may want to discuss with a pharmacist. I know you have very few pharmacies where you live unless you go into the city. Not something you want to do on a snowy evening as you use your last set. Americans all seem to do the mail-order thing, while I know no Canadians that do.

What's your A1C? IMO it was worth every penny.

We mail order supplies because pharmacies here don't carry pump supplies.
