Ok.....here is the story about little Dipstick that went to Kohl's Deptartment store on a shopping trip. She was trying on shorts to take on vacation. Poor little Dipstick took off her pump to try on the shorts that were oh so small on her. Little Dipstick went home and took a nap, got her nails done and never ate lunch. Finally at about 5:00pm, Dipstick was hungry and she ate a peach and some cheese. Dipstick went to take her insulin and found no pump attached to her old shorts. Hmmmmm...... Dipstick called Kohl's immediately and sent everyone scrambling. Finally her pancreas was located. Dipstick took a shot of insulin and flew out the door to claim her poor little pancreas.
Moral of this story.......Don't be a dipstick and leave your pump in the dressing room at Kohl's.

That would have been a bummer to lose a 5500 dollar pump

Yesterday.......wow that was scary. Couldn't figure out what I was going to do to keep my blood sugar under control till I got another one.

I bet that was scary. I've left my meter behind a few times but it isn't anywhere near that value. I always have a business card inside the carrying case in case I should loose it. Is there any way you can have some form of identification on the pump? If if displays messages, could you program it to include your name and a telephone number to contact you if found? I did that with my Complete meter. It is a flawed system (a person must check their blood sugar and have the message option on in order to display my telephone number) but my name and telephone number are in the meter and can be found with a little effort.

That's actually a good idea, LG. On our cell phones my husband and I put a little sticker w/ our phone number and "reward" on it.

So glad that you found it and it is safely back in your possession. It definitely sounds like something I would do, I swear I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached to me. LOL :) I guess this is something to learn from.
