Family has been visiting the last 2 weeks, so I have been drinking a glass of wine (ok, 2-3 glasses, 1/2 to 3/4 bottle) at dinner a few nights a week. Yes, my tolerance to alcohol is not what it used to be either since I lost 10lbs when I quit drinking at all in April. I am still only on 2.45 u of basal a day. I had steak, green beans and a large red potato for dinner, 2 glasses of wine (6oz?) My BS was 92 to start, no insulin and now I am still 92 3 hours later. This has been typical with drinking, so I eat about 40c before bed (no insulin) and I wake up around the same. WTF?!!!
Why do I even take insulin? Maybe I should just drink alcohol all day? I have a better AM fasting number drinking than I have ever had, and I get 40 c FREE before bed!!!:D

Anyone else here in the same boat? I know the dangers of drinking and "D" but man...........

I find at first with boozing it w0rks for me, but after a few weeks it starts to work against me..
My endo told me he had a man in intensive care right then who had used alcohol to control his bg, when I asked him the sme question....
I def think booze has it's uses though....

I have a glass of wine (White Zin) almost every night....... sometimes 2 glasses. When eating cheese & crackers, along with drinking wine, I usually don't bother bolusing to cover the food because the wine lowers my blood sugar instead.
