I had to go to the doctor today, for a lipid panal and refill on some script, well now I am a wopping 104.2 pounds and I have actually been eating a heck of a lot more hmmm...And my bp was 100/70 woopie on that one, and they were asking about my med's and I lied and said yea I am using them, but I never have touched them at all......they gave me an ace and cholesterol meds' I still haven't touched them, and I don't think two months is enough time anyway, and I still didn't fast LOL......oh well....he didn't do an a1c check and now since I don't have to go back for four months, no a1c check till March LOL.....good can get over the holidays hehehe....and he said if everything looks good I only have to see him every 6 months.....omg, and the funny thing was the last time my bp was 120/80 and he goes wow, see how the ace is helping your blood pressure uhhhhhhhhhhh.......................no it's not LOL.....I just wonder what my lipids will be hmmmm......I hope the LDL dropped so he will get off my behind.....since it was 104 two months ago....but my HDL was 67 which is high but good and triglycerides were only 43.......so hmmmmmm........and now I am so active even more and eating my good cholesterol food faithfully everyday.....I hope I see a change.....

But I am so bad for lying.....

So you ate and they did a cholestrol on you? If so, those numbers will definitely be off. I did that once due to running low and my numbers were way outta wack.

In all the years of being diabetic, I was never told to fast....I have always have eaten already when they take blood, I really didn't know if I was going to have blood drawn today anyway, because I was there specifically to get refills on humalog and pumping supplies.....oh well I guess I'll never know what I truly am....but I ate a bowl of oatmeal and an apple for breakfast LOL.....

BOY, be thankful you did lie to him. Last week when I went in, I TOLD him before he did my bloodwork that I wasn't taking his pills, I was doing my best to control my lipids and all that with my diet and he read me the riot act right there in front of my kids. Telling me how I was wasting his time and mine by not taking the prescribed meds and neglecting my Disease. He was very rude and abrupt with me but I wasn't going to stand there and lie to him right in front of my two youngest kids......

I just told him, wait until you get my results and then if it is bad and I didn't make it, I'll take your meds. The next day they called with my results and couldn't say enough good about how well those meds were working for me......... I let them finish and then told them I never took them past the first 4-5 days until she was done and trying to put me on something else.

Needless to say she was completely shocked, but still..... he gave me the attitude bad BEFORE he even knew. I wanted to get him on the phone and let HIM have it, but I left well enough alone. lol

Looks like you didn't need the meds after all.

Never heard of fasting before these blood tests before?

Doctors make me laugh. Living in a misguided world of "science".;)

I would have to take my doctor's temperature if he/she didn't check A1C. You don't think they just "forgot"?
