I have a family member in my immediate family with type 1 diabetes who has been not well for quite a while. He is not a good communicator and really needs a doctor who is familial, warm and is going to ask him a lot of questions. I cannot stress the necessity for him to be paired up with a Doctor of this personality because he is extremely reluctant to even talk to us about what he's feeling.

He's seen a couple of Doctors whom specialize in Diabetes in the area and, from what I gather have not been a good match for him. He is also undergoing work on his eyes now which I'm sure is a sign that his vision is deteriorating due to diabetes.

Any one of the cities (or surrounding areas) I mentioned in the subject is within distance for us. Please don't hesitate to message me personally; I would really appreciate any recommendations.

Thank you

He may have some luck with the Joslin Diabetes Centers.

I highly recommend Dr. Elihu Goren, MD, PhD...it's been several years since I lived there, but his main office was in Chestnut Hill. (Endocrine Associates)

He had a very friendly nature and loved to answer questions. I haven't found an endo like him in my last two cities!

He may be able to give you a referral to someone in your area if he's not convenient. I will warn you, you need to bring a good book to his waiting room because he didn't rush patients which was fine with me.

His receptionist used to let me call ahead to see how fast/slow he was running...it worked for me!
