Hi Carlie,
:)Welcome...I think you will find that this is a GREAT place for support. Everyone tries to help each other out and offer advice, comfort, support, or anything else they can. Although most of us have never met in person , I think I can honestly say we do care about each other here on the board.
I hope you will pop by and visit and post when you can. ;)

Hullo and Welcome, Carlie! It's a pleasure to meet you. It sounds like you've got lots of experience (much to your chagrin, I'm sure, lol!) to offer and share, so I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. I'm glad you've found us, and yes, we do seem to be a chatty bunch folks. I hope you'll visit often and make some new friends!
Welcome again,

Hi Belinda: Thank you for the nice Welcome. I'm glad
I found this community also. I just have to try and
figure how things work here. I suppose I could ask
someone if I need help. A computer geek, I am not.
I'll sure give it my best shot catching up on the the
posts(I 'm looking at maybe by age 80?)

Hi again, Carlie! There's an "FAQ" button on the top right of the screen - it may help you become a little bit more familiar w/ how things work (I'm a bit technologically challenged myself). Just wade on in whenever you're ready!

" Everyone tries to help each other out and offer advice, comfort, support, or anything else they can. "
Andrea, Thank you for the Welcome. All of the above is
very important when one has a disease or condition. Learn-
ing new helpful things is thankfully on-going. I 'm sure I'll
discover more here to add to my collection and hopefully
be able to give my info to some others. :) ***Carlie***

It is Great to "Meet" you Heather and Thank you for the
Welcome. Yes well, this "experience" I could have done
without quite nicely. I am thinking...."How To Renovate A
House Experience" would have been more pleasant and useful.
Chatty is Good, can't have a Forum if no one is talking much.
Is that your cat? How cute and lovely colour. What is his/her name?
Ya, I read the FAQ when I moved in (with 3 truckloads of luggage.
Hey I travel light ). But I was wondering about
small stuff. For example: For an avatar for under my name.
There were no pics following the line that talked about them.
Is this disabled?
WOW! You have sent at least 1,248 post and you haven't
even been here a year yet! WOW! Is there a contest going on?
Talk to you later.......***Carlie***

Hello Linda....MM: :) Which shall I call you? Oh Shucks! :(
Which Arthritis do you have? How long have you had it and
the Asthma? I have heard the term Bipolar but I don't know
anyone that has it so I've never looked it up. It shouldn't be
hard to find.
I know what ya mean. I tend to disappear for a while
also. I'm sure everyone does. Thanks very much for the Welcome. I hope you feel well. Talk to you soon.

Kickstart,
You can read and post anywhere on the forum. Not only does T1 help T2 but T2 can help T1. It is open to all.
BTW to put an avatar on you need to go to user cp and scroll down to the bottom...I had to be told couple of times how to do this because I am challenged too(computer that is!). But I just learned by exploring...LOL
Start posting your thoughts,\

Gotta have 25 posts to get an avatar.
And yes, that's my Cody. He's gone on to kitty heaven, but he was my dearest friend for 18 years, thanks for asking.

Hello again Carlie,
to answer your questions - I have Osteoarthritis, in my hands and feet and goodness knows where else, I was diagnosed this year, though I have had the pain for much longer. I have had Asthma since 1977. And Bipolar, I think most of my life. I seem to cycle rapidly, but have had nothing too destructive for a couple of years. I am not on any meds for it at the moment but my doctor and I are monitoring it closely.
I have type 2 Diabetes, and you can call me Linda - I dont know why I signed of with MM - that is my name on another forum! lets just call it another 'senior moment' LOL
Love Linda

Hi Heather, Bell and Cin: Thanks for the info on the avatar.
I misunderstood. I thought you needed 25 posts just if you
wanted to upload your own pic. Well, ya I guess you do. :).
I do have one picked out so eventually I will have enough
posts to "try" to put it up.
I'm so sorry to hear about your pretty Cody gone to
kitty heaven. My sweet Captain left us 1 1/2 yrs. ago also. :(
Oh well, we all gotta go sometime. Thanks again.

Good Morning Linda: Thank you for your reply. I hope you
are feeling as well as possible on this gorgeous day. :) No
diseases would be Heaven, but me thinks sometimes "Santa
of Diseases" mixes up his lists and gives some people none
and others more than one. :(
Well, keep your chin up Girl and just do the Best you can.
Keep in touch. ***Carlie*** :)

Hi lg: Thanks for the mention. Ya, it was rough sometimes. All we were told was the basics, "Exercise, NO SWEETS AND CANDY(and everywhere you went there it was),plus
boring meals, lots of exercise and water, test 3 times a day. That was with the urine and pills. I started Gr. 1 at 5 almost 6 and I had to walk 1/2 mile to school and back at lunch then back to school and again back home. Even with my little snack at recess
I was often almost unconscious for the walk home.I didn't know why I was so sleepy. Many a time I passed out on the pavement,
even lost a baby tooth one time. The old Doc did his best(still made housecalls). He hadn't had a Juvenile Diabetic 'til he dxd my senior brother by 8 yrs. (his twin sis still doesn't have Diabetes, Thank God, she couldn't handle it), and my 2 1/2 yrs.
senior Brother. No other Type 1's around that we knew of. No
one taught us about Diabetes, just the basics the Doc told our Mom. My Bro's and I were close but we never discussed Diabetes.
Crazy eh? Well, I got through all that and that's what counts.
'Bye For Now.........***Carlie*** :)
