So I went for my yearly eye exam last week and left with news I was less than happy about. I have a small hemorrhage in both of my eyes and my optomotrist seemed pretty concerned about them and wants to see me again in 3 months. I am getting my pump set up next week and am hoping that it will help with regulating bg levels and stop any damage that has already been done.
Luckily it has not affected my vision in any way yet, I am the the only one in my family that doesn't have glasses. But it still scares me to death.

I'm being treated now for macular edema and the treatments are working great and are not very bad at all. One thing though, I do not think needing or not needing eye glasses has much to do at all with this complication of diabetes. My eye glass prescription has barely changed in 5yrs, but I have this trouble.

That sucks Rocky - I'm sorry to hear that. It's good that you're on top of it though, and good that you went to your annual appointment! I'm sure things will be fine - it's amazing what the docs can do!

You don't see an opthamologist? I think you should see one asap. There's **** going on in there that optometrists are not trained to deal with.
