CGMS Billing Codes [Archive]

Beginning January 1, 2008 there are billing codes that are specific to CGM usage. They are as follows...

A9276 for the sensor
A9277 for the transmitter
A9278 for the receiver

I just read about these even though they announced it a week ago so I thought I'd pass it on to all since I hadn't seen any. So for those appealing CGM usage, use the above codes.

My name is Joe Thura and I just joined to learn and share about controlling diabetes. I am planning to buy a CGMS and would like to know the cost involved and if the insurance pay for it. Does one has to buy sensors and how long a sensor will last? Thank you.

What MiniMed billed my insurane was $999.00 for the start up kit and $350.00 a month for the sensors.
