Well, T day I used 61.75 units of humalog. My daily basal rate is 21 units per 24 hours. My boluses are set at 12 carbs per 1 unit. I didn't start eating or snacking until I'd say 3pm. That equals out to 480 carbs for the day
Yea, I'm a pig.....but a skinny pig!!!

If I guessed correct I ate about 600 to 700 Carbs on Turkey day. That is the bad thing about eating at 1pm and then having so much left over you just continue to eat and eat.

I ate 90 the first go round and 70 the second....then about 40 more later that night when I wanted more pumpkin pie...
all in all more carbs than I normally consume in TWO days!

I dunno, I ate some stuff that was 40 carbs a serving so I had about two of the sweet potato casserole, then I ate mashed potatos, another 36 carbs, then I ate two dinner rolls which were 20 carbs a piece, then I ate, some rice, broccoli cheese casserole, which was around 30 carbs, then I ate, some of my chocolate pie I made which was which was 36 carbs per serving, I don't know, i think carb counting is overated, I didn't take a lot of insulin, since I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but I dual waved, I got high of course I corrected and all and all I only needed 6 units...for all that....strange I know......

but I was 130 the next morning with a nice post meal high, after breakfast did a temp basal cause I figured fat was still hitting me.....and got low the next day about 3pm.....

Then at my mom's house I had two big huge pieces of pie, one apple one pumpkin, i figure that alone was 100 carbs, give or take....then well, I ate some sweet potato's mashed potato's and corn, of course both meals I had healthy free food, I am just thinking of the carbs, yet again, I thought about Thursday and was just elevated, and came down with one little correction.....so with that meal I need really 6 units also, I still dual waved and bolused less....

I did ok, not the greatest I am not going to brag, but my insulin sensitivty got me questioning how do I deal with things since the more carbs I consume the less insulin i require, the less carbs, I consume the more insulin I require, I am talking carb ratio's, for big carb meal it seems I am a 1:20 but for every day life I am about a 1:12 or 1:14, I dunno LOL>...

But I didn't hit 300 that's the good thing....every year prior, I always was over 350 so I aint whining over the 230 the first day and the 190 the second, now I am prepared for x-mas LOL

australians do not celebrate Thanksgiving.

being an American here can be depressing at this time of year.

however, for the last 10 years or so my wife's family comes up to our house on the Sunday after Thanksgiving for a Thanksgiving lunch.

this year we cooked a 16.5 pound bird. Thankgiving lunch is a low carb dream!

i had lots of turkey (4-5 big slices), some giblets (yum), string beans and peas, a small spoonful of "corn and onion" in a dish, a small serving of dressing and some gravy.

for dessert i had a fruit salad with lots of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries.

we also had a few nice glasses of sangiovese and pinot noir.

two hours after lunch i was up to 131 (7.3).

later that night i ate one of the turkey legs for supper!!! (i did this whilst making the turkey soup).

next morning (yesterday) i woke to a 79 (4.4). being type 2 means i watch the carbs as i cannot deal with it any other way (at this stage). basically, i call this type 2 adventure a "be kind to your pancreas" exercise. i do that by restricting carbs. i do not miss them or crave them.

I actually didn't have that many carbs. I ate a ton of turkey and salad and things like that. I'm just terrible at eating a ton of carbs and measuring everything correctly. Also, my ratios have been changing drastically as of late, so I was too scared to risk it. :P Definitely will next T-day though. ;)

I ate a tad more than my normal carbs, I'd say about 45g. I had small portions of turkey, ham, green beans, spinach, low carb sweet potato casserole, and a piece of low carb pumpkin pie w/sugar free cool whip. My fiance's mother made this to die for fudge so I was bad and ate a peice of that too.

I had ran about 4 miles earlier that day, than a few hours after dinner took a walk, I was feeling fine. But during my walk I started to feel like I was going low, I had forgotten glucose. When I got back to the house I was 51, it was kind of a crazy BG day.
