Ok, I got highly upset last night as I looked at myself and my diminshing body in the mirror, my arms look so thin, it is making me sick to look at myself anymore.....I don't know what to do, well I decided I am eating again, so I ate, but I didn't measure my chips out, I kept eating them and eating them and eating them and eating them, till the bag was all all gone....
Then I fell asleep......stupid yes....well had a nice or not nice 310 in the morning or at 4am when reality set back in like what the **** are you doing Cheryl, so i corrected well alot less then i technically need and of course I was 120 three hours later....god I hate this **** sensitivity....take a bit to start bringing it down sometimes but if I bolus what I should yea, ok, I'd probably plumit...yes I am re working my rates and what not, it's just not a good time to skip meals since I am withering away to a bare nothing....
Then of course I am tired here lately but I only been getting 5 hrs or less sleep sometimes 6, I used to do good on 7 hrs or more, so that might be it, I mean I am so active and I don't feel weak but now that I think about it, if I get less then 6 hrs I am groggy.....tired irritable...oyyy...
It's so hard when my body has done another 360 on me just when I got things down and decided it wants to need less insulin again....I can't keep testing rates, because of the food loss, I am way too thin I mean seriously...and ok I talked myself out of that before, and did it, thinking ok when you are set then you can eat and really eat nope, then it wants to change again....oyyy
Anyway, I am tired of it all right now, I am sleeping tonight, LOL.....and I am going to bolus correctly LOL>.....if I do overdo, take some more insulin cheryl duh......
The problem seems to be that the more weight I loose this viscious cycle of keeping to change it around yet again, I swear I had it set, then a couple of weeks ago boom, but I was ignoring it, but the lows, and the eating and eating just to keep level, but then I thought stupidly this will make me gain weight NOPE, I lost 5 more pounds what the ****.....I mean seriously....
I don't think it is my thyroid, cause I have symptoms of hyper or hypo, but when you put the two together with my symptoms, I'd be both, so it can't be that, cause i am cold, insulin sensitve and loosing weight, and eating like a ravenous pig, and I have lighter periods....but some of the symptoms don't comply with the other symptoms of hyper and hypo.....plus while I was loosing weight even back in May, I tested fine.....confused yes....insurance is gone right at the moment....I just don't want to spend that all out of pocket for nothing, so I am going to I guess just lower the basal and a bit, by .5 for each rate per pattern, cause I really can't can't can' stop eating.....not at this weight....oh I am tired of fixing constantly....**** weight loss, I swear I go thru everything....oh well it could be worse but I am so tired.....

Yes Cheryl it still could be your thyroid. You need checked for thyroid antibodies, not just thyroid stimulating hormone, or T3. You can have antibodies against your thyroid but the thyroid stimulating hormone, and T3 be in range...please ask your doctor to check for antibodies. This very thing happened to me and sure enough my antibodies levels were extremely high but all my other levels were normal. This can happen with Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Cheryl, you just need to make out with me and it will all be ok. haha. Just messing with you.
Take it easy, we all slip up. Just get up, brush yourself off and get to doing what you do. You know how to do it, and when. It is frustrating but you just gotta stick to it.
And the making out is still there if you ever need it as a motivater. haha.
I sure hope people around here are going to handle my sense of humor ok.

How long do I got, I was wondering my flipping job has me working all the rest of the week instead of today....but Brent just took the good car and the van is all messed up....so I cannot get an appointment for myself till next Tuesday if I wanted to go....hmmm god that's gonna be a ton of money but I am just confused why the **** don't doc's test us for everything when they were supposed to grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr that makes me so mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean I think i had signs then, and he just said to me I was too unstable to handle a pump...but if I am wacky or thyroid is off.....wouldn't anyone feel unstable LOL....

Cheryl,
I don't know that you necessarily need to see the doctor yet. Can't you just call him and tell him to give you a lab requisition requesting the thyroid antibodies test?? I don't think you even have to fast for this. Oh, and if it's your primary care doctor that is telling you your thyroid is "fine" that explains it all. My PCP claimed for almost 3 years that he was "checking" my thyroid. I guess only looking at the TSH levels is what he considered "checking." Those were always normal at first. My endo is the one who told me he thought I had a thyroid problem and he is the one who ordered the thyroid antibody test. So, again, sometimes its worth it to see an endo if you are not.

Hope you feel better soon. I personally think it could be something other than diabetes though. Get a thyroid test done ASAP and also get a second opinion from another doctor if you can.

It was technically my endo, that did the test on me and tested the TSH-3 that was it, I just came back from this doc, and he did a complete thyroid and hormone test, I told him what about the antibodies, he told me that it would show up with all the test he is testing me for, OK.....well ummm so I will ask for a copy when I get my results back and you all let me know if I got tested for everything I was supposed to if not, time for another doc...LOL...he checked my heart rate and my what do you call that reflexes which are fine.....and also, well my BP, is now 104/60 wow.....wise I didn't get on the Ace yet, and I am 105.4 pounds so I hadn't lost any weight from 2 and a half weeks ago, but I purposely wore no makeup to show him that I have been breaking out like crazy, now, and if hormones are off, you do break out at the skin, he is also running some stomach tests.....so I dunno....we will see what he has to say, if I guess that I have been tested for it all...and I am fine then I guess I will just have to shoot myself.....LOL......and just keep on upping the amount of food I eat, the carbs and what not.....oyyy....I eat and eat and eat LOL...

It could be thyroid but I think it's because you are upping the carbs you eat instead of the fat. Fat contains twice as many calories per weight as carbs do. Eat more cheese. Add whipping cream instead of milk to your coffee. Eat avocados in your salads. STOP eating potato chips and stuff like that! Eating more carbs simply gets your diabetes out of control and makes you thirsty and peeing out nutrition and calories. That's why people lose weight when first diagnosed with DM!

I am not going to be bashed about my bugels sweet and salty carmel chips that I so happily indulge in once a month.....I don't eat chips on a regular basis...well sunchips twice a week i eat granola bars and peanut butter crackers more, I actually eat a lot more healthy then most people tend to realize....i eat cheese with almost every meal, and meat or some kind of protien source with every meal.....I am not using whipping cream and I only drink coffee at work....so I dunno....tried the high fat low carb diet, ummm i get higher bg's and have to play with dual wave and all that **** constantly not for me, carbs are in and out.....attacked by the insulin....I eat 40 or so carbs a meal....and the fat varies from 18-30 grams per meal, this is a combo of good and bad fats....I don't think I am malnourished at all....the more carbs I eat though, the more energy I have the more fat I eat the more I feel my artieries getting clogged and I swell, and the bp rises not for me at all......I am highly active I don't sit on my tush barely...
thanks though, but I am not into that low carb thingy it's not my thing.....been there done that felt like death and a swelled up mushroom with constant elevations in bg's hours and hours after the fact and then I wasn't insulin sensitive anymore and it was hard to correct....it don't work for my body...
I also know when I should eat low carb is when I am lazy like on Sunday's I can get away with normal amount at breakfast but lunch has to be no more then 20 carbs and dinner I can resume to normalacy......it about activity and balancing with carbs, if your not gonna be a moving and a shaking yea don't eat higher carbs if you are which I do oh yea, I need the carbs, need the carbs big time....

OH yea by the way my thyroid is just fine, aint nothing wrong with it at all tested for all the hormones and the antibodies, and someone asked about my eyes, my eyes are perfect.....i have had one broken vessel since last Oct of 06, and got it checked again in August........still looked great the eyes, and the one broken vessel was barely noticeable anymore.....
I read on this other forum that some lady went DKA cause of an infected tooth....ummm that is the thing that I am lacking is proper dental work.....and come to think of it, when I had gotten my wisdom teeth removed in March of 06, that is when the swinging sugars started to start, like I was in need of less lantus, but I didn't realize it, and was on a roller coaster ride of disaster, I have an absess above this root canal that was done three year ago then comes and goes, I had peridontal disease before which I think it starting to progress again because some teeth the gums are going a bit down, and my other tooth or molar the filling came completely out and I have now a broken hole for a tooth, I made an appointment for the dentist to discuss options and what not...cause when I lost my job I lost dental insurance, so now that I am a bit more financially stable it is time to work on my teeth, maybe that is my problem with leveling off is my **** teeth,......but if that is all that has happened to me because of the first 15 years of my diabetic life not giving a flying flip, then I consider myself lucky and broke....LOL

Wow Cheryl. You sound alot like me. I am struggling with weight gain, or not gaining I should say. I have horrid skin and menstrual problems too recently, the last year. My thyroid has several cysts, atypical partial masses. Nearly Hyperthyroid but not quite. I eat anything and everything. I hate the mirror too. Just thought I would let you know you are not alone. I am suffering right here with you:( No explanation is the worst!

You may be on to something here. I don't know much about this stuff but I've learned that the link between Diabetes and periodontal disease is significant - and that discovery of this strong link it is so new that many doctors and dentists are not yet hip to it.
Anyway, there's plenty of good reason to get your dental situation back in order aside from what it might be doing to your diabetes. Try the Sonicare (http://www.sonicare.com/why/default.asp) toothbrush - I can recommend that one from personal experience. Also, ask your dentist about DSRP and antibiotic treatments applied between teeth and gums which provides resolution of pocket depths for some people - it worked for me I got back 2-3 millimeters.

Oh yeah, dental problems can cause diabetes problems.
I just got back from seeing the periodontist.
The first part of saving what teeth I have , a couple have to go, they are not saveble and getting the periodontal disease under control is going to set me back almost 3000 after insurnace .
Told my husband this afternoon that I am getting my smile back. We will figure it out.
