Hi,

Cool forum! I am reviewing my regimen, having been T1 for 26 years. I recently switched from NPH to Lantus with Humalog before each meal. It is helping and the 'ol HBA1c is edging back down. But it is still much too high at 7.6.

I am keen to learn about the experiences of others and how the various challenges are handled. I haven't had any contact with other Diabetics until recently. So I look forward to sharing information and experiences on this forum.

I will definitely be putting a lot more energy into maintaining good control than I have during the last 10, ... or maybe 15 years. It is so easy to become complacent.

Early signs of Retinopathy were identified at my last eye scan. It was only one tiny little microaneurism in the left eye. Which, I suppose isn't bad after 26 years. But I definitely don't want it getting any worse!

Cheers,

Mark

Good Morning and Welcome, Mark! It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm T1 myself, for 13 years. I was on NPH for about 11 years w/ Regular & then Humalog. I switched to Lantus about 1-1/2 years ago and am doing well for the most part. I hope you'll visit often and share your experiences with us!

Take care,
HeatherP
