Hi..

Diabetes is all so new to me..any type :) just happen to have this one :) but anyways my fasting has gotten high, higher then i like...can a sinus problem cause this? My lantus does not seem to be helping with it right now..i know i am on lil dose of lantus 12 units at night..but i was just curios if sinus can do this also i have heard that flu can...

Yes, being sick can elevate your BG. (or lower it in some people's cases) Either/or, your body isn't reacting "normally", so expect higher readings until it's over.

I would suggest correcting with more rapid insulin rather then Lantus, as the rapid is shorter lasting and easier to manhandle as it were..... (some smart chick suggested this to me once. ;)

Yes being sick can raise your BS. Alot of the medicines can cause a rise in BS too. Personally I would correct with more Lantus, 12 seems too low despite what Gangrel said.
