My first A1C since diagnosis is 6.3!
I was honestly expecting something quite a bit higher, because I still don't feel quite in control of my BG levels. Since May, when I was diagnosed (with an A1C of 15.0 :(), I have had frequent problems with both lows and highs. How do I still have a decent A1C? I guess I'm not sure how the extreme lows are read in A1Cs, but either way, I would say I had more highs than lows.
The thing is, I kind of woke up out of my "denial phase" not too long before the blood work was done. I started eating a lot better and stopped taking bad risks. I certainly did have better BG levels a couple of weeks beforehand. Perhaps that had more of an effect on it? What have your experiences with this been? Thanks! :)
