hi peter! it depends on the weather for me too...in winter i prefer it hot. i used to love hot ovaltine with tons of marshmallows. that was b4 diabetes...last itme i had it as a diabetic-it spiked my bgs! i found me some carb free chocolate syrup-it's made with splenda. i have it with cold milk. i never really cared for hot chocolate milk made with syrup...but there are a couple of recent recipes for hot chocolate here somewhere that i wanna try! trish

Hey Trish, Thanks for the idea and yes this is a spike in BG's as the milk for starters and also the chocolate too. As for the weather, The humidity has gone for a while today and that's a releif. But it's summer and humidity knocks me around. :)

It depends. This time of year it is cold!!! We just finished last night putting heated water containers and buckets out for the horses and I was freezing when I got in so I had some hot chocolate and a HOT bath!

Hey Jill, That sounds like a good thing to do on your farm..... er Ranch and a good winter comfort food he he. I have mine in bulk form as I get a cup and warm that up in the microwave and stir in Milo (http://www.milo.com.au/). then put that rich mix in the rest of the 2 Liter bottle:T

I drink it cold in the warm months, but I use sugar-free chocolate syrup to cut the carbs.
In the winter I drink diet hot chocolate and pile it high with whipped cream. The diet hot chocolate only has 4 carbs...so I can get away with no bolus!

Hood's Calorie Countdown - it's all I use. Think it is excellent. I've never tried their Chocolate but the regular has 90 calories ans 3 carbs per 8 oz. :D !

They got this soy milk and it is chocolate and only 12 carbs for a cup of it, so it's nice to drink it......I dont' drink regular milk......the only dairy i consume is mozerella cheese and the occasional yellow cheese in foods here and there......
But I dunno, man drink reg old choclate milk that is too much insulin LOL
I like mine cold, but I might warm mine up since it has been cold again

I hardly ever drink it, but when O do, I do it right. A pot of milk with Nestle's Quick mixed in brought slowly to a boil as you constantly stir.
It was -19c the other night :(

Hey!!, How do you have you choc milk as I have it cold due to the weather here?
Adding milk prevents the absorption of cocoa's valuable antioxidants. And cocoa is the highest of all foods in antioxidants, so it's tops for your health.
Try this recipe:
EQUAL amounts of unsweetened, non-alkalinized cocoa and Splenda. (Any amount, just make sure they're pretty much in the same amount.)
Mix the two when dry, then add water to desired consistency, that's all! You can make unbelievably delicious fudge sauce OR a cocoa drink, depending on how much water you add. Heat them or serve them cold. We have hot fudge sauce on sweetened yogurt every night.
Just make sure that your cocoa is unsweetened, non-alkalinized...otherwise known as Dutch processed. Alkalinization destroys the antioxidants.
P.S. I have a lot of such recipes. Want me to copy them here??
