I guess it would be good to do some research as I'm getting so hungry throughout the day I just can't take it anymore. I'm type 1 btw.

So I'm looking for 0 carbs foods, without high levels of fat...the only thing I know of is some vegetables and meats, like tomatoes and chicken. And butter too I think. But this is a very limited list for my liking.

Anyone have any suggestions?

oh and I was also wondering for white eggs. They say 0 carb, but I'm not sure...when Ive eaten one or two and tested myself after, the results were not good - but I can't be certain that they are the reason. But in general for people with Type1 is it safe to eat them?

Eggs do not contain any carbohydrates however some say that protein raises their BG. Another alternative to not eating carb-free is to switch to a regimen such as Lantus which allows for more flexibility. In the mean time, you can refer to CalorieKing (http://calorieking.com) for carb information.

I an type 1 as well, and have found eggs to raise my bg higher than any other form of protein. Not sure why this is, but I can eat many more grams or protein from other sources and not get the high....I still eat eggs though. I try to snack on veggies when I'm being "good"!:D

Yeah...veggies are all right...but at the end they don't really do much more than water. I'm still left very hungry. And that's a real shame about the eggs...I was hoping on that at least...

I don't know, I'm average-weight, and I didn't use to "stuff myself" or anything before I got diabetes...but now I'm just getting so hungry throughout the day and my choices are really to say "the **** with it" or let the hunger just bulldozer through me. I'm 19, so maybe when I get older it will lessen somewhat...but right now it just really, really sucks.

I always bolus for my protein consumption.

Besides pickles, cucumbers, celery, and a few others, there aren't many free foods. Just load up the syringe and eat smart...
