Has anyone here tried the Dreamfields pasta? It says it is low glycemic because on 5 carbs are digested per serving. If that's true, how does it taste? The company claims it tastes like the real thing.

I tried some low carb pastas in the past and couldn't stand them.

I love Dreamfields pasta. It's just as good (or better as far as I'm concerned) as any of the "regular" types. There are already several threads on this subject here.

We have it about once a week at my house. I have some picky eaters so it would not work if it didn't taste just as good as "regular" pasta.

I do love the taste of Dreamfields. But, I think that my levels do better using Barilla Plus pasta. I do not like the taste as well, but it has a lot more protein and more fiber.

I have good results with Dreamfields, I usually just bolus the pasta as 5g carbs. I think it tastes just as good as regular pasta. I gave it to my fiance, he couldn't tell the difference.

I use Barilla wheat pasta, the whole family eats it. I don't miss other pasta at all.

I like whole wheat pasta, it is so much more flavorful, had a little taste of regular pasta and it tasted like paste.

At 34 per serving, the Barilla pasta has nearly seven times the net carbs that Dreamfields has.

For whatever reason it doesn't seem to spike my BG in the least.

Though I typically consume 40 to 60 g carbs per meal without issue.

Do you ever have the feeling that solving world peace would be easier than controlling this ****ing beast?

I like the Dreamfield's Pasta...it's much better than when it first came out. What we teach in class though, is to check your sugar 2 hrs after the start of the meal as some diabetics are sensitive to the pasta and will spike. YMMV

Well John, I've only been at this a little over a year and honestly, it hasn't been all that rough for me. I've kept my A1c at or below 6 during that time.

But yeah, it sux having the disease when I'd like an eclair once in awhile and I don't ever eat like that anymore. :(

xMenace,

Correct me if I'm wrong but I have the feeling that the type 1's have it harder than us 2's (at least some of us). I'm in control with diet and exercise - a type 1 can't do that - right?
