urrently seeing my diabetic team every two weeks after I "Hi"ed out my monitor (it does that after 33.3). I am using the i-test monitor. After I got that i did 60 units of humalog and then like an hour later it was still "HI" so I did another 60 before I ended up crashing about 3 hours later. ----It was not a good day. Anyway I am back to somewhat normal numbers now. All though my HA1C is still at 10 ( I need to update my signature still)

I have since seen my dietician and diabetic nurse a few times since my last post and they have me testing like 6-10 sometimes more than that a day. but the numbers are coming down. I have had some high (as in like 20 ) when i miss a bg test or forget the insulin (which happens when things get too hectic at this time of year). The goal is to be back in full control by february.

Currently we are trying to confirm whether or not i am crashing at night. that is one of the harder things to do because it means when you wake up in the middle of the night for anything you need to test you bg and sometimes it is so hard because I am so tired
But I am trying my best and hopefully I will be back in control by the goal date.

Happy Holidays

Hello Tsukia, I find that this is a real art to perfect and I see that you have a lot of learning to do so don't be too disappointed as I am forever learning to answer questions too and with 36 Years of this stupid disease as this is almost a bottomless pit and a balance that we do every day.
So Tsukia, It's a balance of Insulin, Food, And exercises and I guess you know that and for the insulins and your highs is to increase your insulin in small increments.

 hang in there tsukia!

you can do it, just take it one step at a time and try not to beat yourself up about it.

testing the overnight basals is pretty important so do try and do that a couple of times. (i think xmenace actually stayed up ALL night once to do his really thoroughly  )

keep us posted on your progress, DF really helped me to beat the high's i was experiencing.

I did, but pumping basal treatment is a bit different. I feel for ya Tsukia. Those overnight settings are one of the hardest things we have to do.

I'm sure your DE told you, but one hour is not long enough to wait for Humalog to bring down BGs. It can take two to four hours, usually fourish. One thing that might really help you is pre-bolussing: take your insulin 30 minutes before you eat. It takes planning and there is risk involved, but it really helps my BGs.

I was told about the time frame when i talked to my diabetic team a few days later but I had paniced it had never done that to me before.
As for the night time BG testing. I am working on it and doing it when I am able to. One night I was so tired and had asked my husband to wake me after a few hours. he had to wake me three times before he finally did my BG for me because i kept falling back asleep. other times like last night I am able to do my BG but it is a struggle to drag myself from bed to treat a 4.0 at 4am. but I did and today's bg's are actually looking good :)

I don't know, sometimes I wish that I could just cure myself and be done with it. but I see my team tomorrow and we will see what they have to say then.

Thank you all for your encouragement

Yes the testing is a real bug bear, But because that we have unatural insulin it dosn't come with a bilut in regulator. :(

Tsukia, Control is testing and knowing your BG's and have the basels 12 hours appart and bolus when you about to eat as this is so impotant. As things get busy you may miss a injection but that dose not stop you from knowing that you have and see that the BG's are happy as this makes you happy.

Hey the same to you. I going to have the mobile phone on so that I can get a test at night too as this is difficalt to do as I sleep quite well and you would need a bomb with a timer on the dettonator beside the C4 jellynight so that I can be awake.
