I think I just took Humalog instead of the Lantus I take at bed time. I just took my insulin and a moment later, looked at the counter and saw a vial of Humalog sitting there. I can't be sure of the dose but I'm pretty sure it was 12 units, which is what I take of Lantus each night. Blood sugar is 130, a little high but it's going to drop a whole lot real soon. I only slept 4 hours or so last night. I get the feeling if go to sleep tonight, I'm going to wake up to paramedics working on me again.

Lowell, I guess that you're are OK now. Are you using pens for your injections? as this is better for recognizing insulins. Please talk to your endo for this as having making mistakes can be dangerous as you now know.

It has dropped from 130 to 51 in less than an hour so I think I probably got the full 12 units of Humalog. I'm going to bed so if I don't see any of you any more (you won't be that lucky just yet), it's been real, it's been fun! Not going to be a fun night.
We'll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Actually, the question is aimed at just one person but we already know the answer to that one, don't we?

Sure, I got through okay. I got up a lot to check my blood sugar so I didn't sleep much. In spite of all the sugar, my blood sugar ran in the 50's all night(?). It was 57 just a moment ago. I'm glad it didn't get any lower.
I thank you for your concern!
Anyone think that Chasing Cars is a sweet song? I just heard it for the first time last night and loved it.

Happy to hear you're doing well! :)
But checking that much you must be very tired now, it was a short night I bet.
Take good care!

I was up with you Lowell. I over-bolussed for pizza and had chronic drops until 3am ish. Had a nasty feeling high of 10.5/190 this morning and feel awful.
Are you ok?!?
i was up all night as well. but only cause my bloods restarded, no over insulating by me ....
if that happens again, i'd suggest coutering it w/ juice or something.
i've done that once, i wasn't paying attention in class and i took like 10 units of novorapid thinking i was only taking like 4.
needless to say, i found every vending machine in the school!

Lowell,
I have done that too -- I scare myself, then laugh it away . . . just thinking about my type 1 going along with my future Alzheimers (every woman in my family ends up with it almost).
Seriously, last time I did that, I went ahead and drank about a half gallon of OJ (I used my proper ratios), then finally went to bed. The next morning my bg was almost perfect.
I've also taken a shot of Lantus, then 30 seconds later, not know if I only thought about taking it, or really did!
Laugh, don't cry, but don't do yourself in either!!!
No mistakes today Lowell, ha!
I used to be paranoid that i didn't take it either! So i started carrying around a syringe with my lantus and i always checked the blocks on my pen to make sure they added up to the hour that i ate.

Glad to hear you made it through the night ok!! Scary thing to have happen. I used to take my lantus at work - all in one dose, I think it was 30 or so units back then. I took it at 11am, realized I had taken my novolog/humalog (can't remember), ran into my boss' office almost crying, told him what I had done and to call the paramedics if I passed out and what to tell them, ran down to the cafeteria who was closing in 5 mins, grabbed 2 bottles of OJ, came back up to my desk and figured out how many carbs I would need to offset the 30 units of humalog I just took. The lowest I ended up being was 60, so I was lucky!!
If it happens to you again, I would definitely try to offset it with the right amount of carbs so you're not at such risk of going low. I would have been scared if I did that at night time.
